  1. If TUTAG has prove that the VC's qualification is not fake, let them put out the PhD Diploma for the world to see. This is the surest and the fastest way to settle the matter and defend the credibility of the VC. Ironically, TUTAG accuses Mr. Acheampong of not providing any substantive evidence to support his claim, yet TUTAG also failed to provide any evidence in defense of the VC.
  2.It is perhaps not far fetched to claim that, if indeed the VCs PhDcertificate was genuine, the matter would have been settled long ago. Surely, the University authorities would have long run to the public with valid copies of the certificate to disprove the petitioners claim. That the matter continues to hang, is to a large extent prove that there may be some validity in the claim by the petitioner. Therefore, it is in the public interest that the GTEC and University leadership investigate the matter and make its finding public. Under the circumstances, the petitioner deserves commendation for having the courage and a sense of public spirit for initiating this action.
  3. In issuing this statement, is TUTAG pre-empting the findings /recommendations of the Committee set up by the University Council? As matters stand now, Council has initiated an institutional process to resolve the matter, so why is TUTAG in a hurry to put out this statement. Doesn't TUTAG trust the institutional due process? Or, is TUTAG afraid of what the Committee might find and is therefore preparing the ground to reject the eventual report that the Committee might put out? Better still, is the statement meant to intimidate the University leadership for taking the necessary actions against the VC?Let TUTAG be warned, the stakes are much higher than the current leadership of TUTAG perhaps grasps. What is at stake is the image and credibility of a public university with about 17,000 students.
  4. Or, is it a case that TUTAG does not understand the implications of the issue at stake on the image, integrity and credibility of KsTU. If TUTAG means well, they should be supporting the process set in motion by the Council to resolve the matter. After all, in a matter of this nature, every stakeholder’s prime interest should be ensuring that the image of the University is what ends up being protected. TUTAG should be supporting the due process, and indeed, ask that the investigative process initiated by the Council be made transparent.
  4, TUTAG should understand that the gravity of this matter goes beyond the usual local politics. In particular, if the matter is not properly handled it can cause irreparable damage to the image and international standing of the University. TUTAG would have been better served to remain neutral or at best openly support investigations into the matter in order to bring a quick resolution to the issue. To step out in the manner they have done, and to appear to defend the VC without any tangible evidence of his culpability is problematic.
  5. My advise to TUTAG: If the VC has nothing to hide, cuase him publish his PhD certificate for the world to see and to acquit himself. Short of that, doubts will continue to linger in the minds of well-meaning stake holders about the PhD certificate of the VC.

  How can a member of an investigative committee set up by the University Council come out to sign a press release seeking to abandone/squash the investigation process. Because he has sold his concience for money and promised position. The VC should reconcile how he undertook a PhD program at Atlantic and he could not graduate because the university was clossed down in the USA because the University did not meet accreditation protocols and all of a sudden a University in Costa Rica has adopted the PhD and awarded. Is this not fraud, I think NIB should come in to investigate this. Please anyone who wants the facts of this matter should contact prof NNNN. As for TUTAG- KsTU you dont have the facts so just slow down in oeder not to disgrace yourselves. There is more to this case than you know.

  It looks like people have more information about this case and i am beginning to see the wisdom of the council to set up a committee to look into this case. i was one of those who thought that this case has no merit but reading the comments supra, i think TUTAG-KsTU is jumping the gun. They should rather support the process to come to a transparent logical conclusion. the council should expedite action on the investigation and bring this issue to a close to save the hard won image of KsTU and its hard working staff.
