The prophets of old described in the Bible spent most of their time warning people to turn away from the sinful life and follow God. They were also never afraid to call out rulers or those in authority if they lived sinful lives or failed in their duty to govern with compassion and integrity. Because of their habit of challenging unrighteous kings and rulers many of them ended up in prison or were exiled. In some cases, the prophets were killed by angry rulers.

BEING A PROPHET IN BIBLE TIMES WAS NOT A LIFE OF LUXURY. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS TO BE A TRUE MESSENGER OF GOD.

The only prophets who lived in luxury during Bible times were usually the false ones who tended to stay close to the seats of power or to the ruling authorities or Kings of the day. These fake prophets usually numbered in the hundreds or thousands. In contrast to these false prophets, true prophets were very few and far between and were usually treated as outcasts for some or during all their lifetime. They were frequently forced into exile, imprisoned or even killed.

If someone claims to prophesy, they should clearly mention the name of the former president and give the exact month, date, day, and time of death.

Another issue that is never addressed is when Ghana will emerge from its so-called Third World status. When will Ghana develop to the level of Western countries? These important matters are always absent from such prophecies. They also never speak about events affecting their own immediate family members.

Politicians should not allow themselves to be used in these so-called prophecies. Why does this happen every year only on the night of 31 December? These fake and theatrical behaviours should be banned. Prophets in the Bible gave precise details—exact times, dates, and how events would occur. Nowadays, anyone can repeatedly make baseless claims and call it prophecy.

This constant fear-mongering must stop. People can say anything about presidents and face no consequences simply because they are public figures.
