It’s feels good to know Ghana recorded trading surplus due to exceptional increase in gold prices. However, the managers of the economy shouldn’t be too excited because we haven’t actually done anything extraordinary. We should utilize some these windfall gains into the productive sectors of the economy to diversify our exports. Gold prices aren’t going to be this high forever as the US economy recovers.
