When I started the farm, a bag of maize was 400 cedis but when it was 2 months down the line, the bag of maize was raised to 1600 cedis. The 1200 bag was when the bucket of 6 made a bag but where a bucket of 7 or 8 made a bag, it was 1600. I had to spent 12000 cedis to make a tone of feed. Egg price then jumped from 25 cedis to 60 cedis a crate. We couldn't even feed the pigs too. Truth is, I had to sell 2000 birds when they were just 3 months because I couldn't sustain feeding them. At the end, I made a loss of 200000 gh cedis. NPP, If I have the power, I would line all of them up and shoot everyone of them in the head. They are evil, traitors, terrorists. The worst must happen to them. Why do you think the Ashantis and the Ahafos refused to vote for these fools, because the last 8 years of NPP destroyed the businesses of we the Ashantis

Many economists including Ato Forson estimate that the $ GHC ratio should be 1:10 /12 which is optimal.
That's what the Canadians and Chinese are doing but you can't see that for obvious reasons.

Now, to shore up a currency with an asset which gives you competitive advantage is the best. Indeed using metals is the easiest and better way.

The Western countries know this that is why they took out Gaddafi. He leveraged his economy with oil. It was clever so he had to be taken out. After that, the result is clear.

China and the developed world alway cushion their currency with property and assets. Today, the use is doing a similar thing with its chip production because they have competitive advantage in that area. They're developing the AI sector and other tech areas. That's why they're in a tussle with China.

To make the Cedi appreciate, the Bank of Ghana has bought Cedis in the market for dollars earned by exporting gold and cocoa. It has also attempted to enforce the ban of trading Cedis to prices other than it decrees. The effect of this policy entails billions out the window, to be sucked up by the well connected (who are given preferred access to buy dollars to official prices) and importers on the expense of domestic producers. The policy totally kills Ghanean export and import substituting production. Even fruit juice and simple furniture is imported in Ghana now. I've even seen imported cashew nuts in the shops.

When gold and cocoa prices turn down again, this policy is going to backfire and bite our back parts. When the need to depreciate the Cedi arises again, probably already in 2026, the Bank of Ghana will drag its feet, thus opening up a big black market for currency trading and smuggling of gold and cocoa, all in all undermining both the economy and civil moral and law and order in the country.

Couple of months ago, the Veep, said that the current economy easiness going on in Ghana was due to the DDEP introduce by NPP, quickly, that statement was suppressed and killed by the government. You cannot tell me that Mahama is using magics to make things work in Ghana without any concrete policy. Where is his much touted 24-hour economy, and the jobs it will create?

Does it make sense for the government to pump $10billion just to put a facelift on the cedi, and do you know what that money can do in Ghana? Research shows that, that money can construct all our roads to asphaltic level, but Mahama just used it as mere cosmetic on the cedi.
