Why shd they therefore continue to fight making their ppl poorer.Portraying them in public as very poor traditional areas will psychologically reduce their ego,which will prevent them from fighting.

He did not have affluent Clothing except BATAKARI which he had three. Yet many of the fools there who were more BROKE followed him to stupid and senseless wars. am not saying that the Asante people are the best but do we find Asante towns fighting each other and even destroying Government properties? If the Asantehene has done his best to end the Bawku conflict that has plagued the area but their stupid useless Politicians don’t agree, let us leave them alone.. . I wish Other Towns and Cities would not allow them settlements in their territories. Yes, towns and areas outside Bawku should ask the Government for Curfew to be imposed there and be enforced by the Military. That stupid Politician does not live in Bawku but wants to cause confusion there. He needs to be arrested to Burma Camp for Military Training and Discipline. Yes, that should be a real Military Discipline with a Hundred Horse whips at the back and Butt as well as Fifty Horse whips under the feet every morning.

If you know history proper, then you know that slavery was long controlled by the Arabs across the Sahara before the Portuguese arrived on the coasts.

Take the Kusaasi, they historically had no chiefs so how would Abugrago today go into villages and sell land? The land belongs to families and the chiefs have no cut.

There were knigdoms in the north prior to the arrival of the colonials. The colonials tried same imposition in the south during the indirect rule, but they were reversed. My little engagement with the Bawku case, indicated that the land belongs to the Kusasis who are a decentralized state. The Kusasis derive their authorifrom land holding, while the Mamprusis derive their authority from history. The law is on the Kusasi side, and must be enforced.

This appeal to Otumfuo is a Trojan horse, purposely crafted to denigrate him (this was a lose-lose situation for him no matter the outcome of the mediation). I envisaged this unfortunate moment and would have personally entreated the great king to refuse the task, if I had the clout to confer with him. He has been invaluable in finding solutions to the hitherto unexcogitable Dagbon crisis, provided thousands of scholarships to the needy, and helped to secure financial aid for the country, just to be hated and maligned. Why can't he remove himself from these matters and concentrate on his kingdom? You can't force people to like you by sacrificing yourself for them.

Also, it will do you good to know that emotional and social intelligence is more rewarding to a society, which may contribute to the reasons why despite the over 40 tribes, diverse religions, volatile subregion, etc, Ghana was the first country to gain independence in subsahara Africa. Hope you know this issue was started by kwame Nkurmah, and then endorsed by the PNDC because the Mamprusis didn't support them. So basically this conflict was fueled by partisan politics. How did Naa Gbewaa Resting place ended up in Pusiga which is not far from Bawku and why didn't the Kusasis fight then to gain their independence till after independence.

Rejection of "Conflict": Mahama argued there isn't a genuine chieftaincy conflict but a law-and-order issue, as Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II is the recognized overlord.

This is a political football. An NPP government especially led by Bawumia will oversee a reversal of that. Then an NDC government that comes in later will also allow a reversal of the reversal. And whiles all that is happening, successive governments refuse to invest and develop the area using the conflict as an excuse. So the youth continue to be poor, jobless and prone to recruitment into gun violence. Currently, all over the country, youth from Bawku are the worst trouble makers everywhere. And they appear to be proud of that. This is sad. If government opens up the area with material developments and serious job creation, this conflict will recede to the background. 1970 to 1980 saw a united peaceful Bawku when I lived there. Even after the death of the then Bawku Naba (a mampruga). There was peace with small skirmishes until 1988 when I left the town. Mamprusi had farms in Kusasi heartlands and Kusasis traded freely in Bawku market without hinderance. The economy was what everyone cared about mostly and it was good. How is it that the elders then could keep the peace but the youth then who became elders now cannot? Blame political divisions for that. Because as the Asantehene said the two tribes have intermarried and have produced children like Mahama Ayariga among others. So if force has failed to bring peace to Bawku, and mediation has failed, and lawfare has failed, let economic development make an attempt.
