If income pauses today, what practical skill puts cash in your hand immediately? Smartphone repair & accessories is one of the few skills that still pays daily, even in hard times. Phones break every day. People fix them the same day, that's money changing hands fast. Many unemployed people, even those with jobs — are learning this skill quietly to support themselves, or gifting the book to train siblings, relatives, or community youths. Many are buying copies to empower others this season, instead of giving other gifts that finish. GET Chukky Oparandu’s guide - it breaks it down clearly for beginners: repairs, flashing, accessories sales — the skill even open doors into IT careers. No big capital. Just a skill you earn from once you apply it. If you’re planning ahead for 2026, this is one move people are already making. Rush now, Search “Chukky Oparandu” on Amazon or visit selar.co/m/chukky (French edition available).

Accra is paying the price for years of unplanned growth. Roads meant for a smaller city are now overwhelmed, while weak enforcement allows disorder to thrive. Traffic congestion is no longer just an inconvenience—it is a daily crisis draining productivity and quality of life. Without a bold, well-enforced master plan, the capital risks grinding to a halt. The population is getting bigger and in 50 yrs another 8yrs the gh population will expand but you are not making any expansion efforts to contain them. Nkrumah built danskman and Tema residences..what leaders has even replicated this in any other region or city in Ghana?

Kwesi Pratt's comment was most unfortunate. I admire him so much but his penchant for running down those who deviate from his beliefs is not a good thing. He is not the only repository of knowledge in this country.

Addis Ababa in Ethiopia was once choked with congestion but go and see Addis Ababa today. It is almost like Dubai. Clean, beautiful and super modern city. The transformation was accomplished in less than 5 years. The problem with Ghana is that we don't have leaders who are truely committed to transforming the country. We all seemed to be satisfied with our condition and what we have.

Let us not throw good money after foolish ideas lest we remain a 3rd world nation or developing nation with shiny buildings built on foundations of sand.
The problem in Accra is the same problem in each village, town, city, municipality and metropolitan communities in Ghana; the underlying problems are lack of stake in community ownership and the principled, honesty and discipline required of code enforcement agents with oversight authority.
How will the people in all the communities in Accra-Tema metropolis react if wall and structures that encroaches shared areas are torn down without exception? A look at city planning maps will show roads that have been encroached and structures built without approved inspection certificates from city planners. Why then should the potential residents of a newly drawn community obey and abide by rules that 95 percent of structures in the Accra-Tema area disregarded without consequences?
One can take a look at Spintex or East Legon communities and see how residential zones are laced with commercial activities including noise polluting drinking stations. Take a helicopter ride over Accra-Tema and one can clearly large/huge community sections that shows no planning not because the communities were not planned but because land developers encroached on every inch of land leaving no room for roads or shared community areas to be used by garbage collection trucks or sewage disposal trucks.
You know you live in a area of selfish and ignorant property owners and landlords whenever or wherever one can walk out of a house and has to walk through what looks like the compound of another home to get to the nearest access road; that is proof of our disregard for true and meaningful development.
