There are people who know how to execute good governance to yield development, but have either chosen to stay away or denied the opportunity due to our toxic political climate. No one cares anymore about your competence. What they care about is your party affiliation. If Ken Offori-Atta was put in his right place that could have saved the trouble. Akufo-Ado rejected the recommendations of a significant number of MPs to remove Ken. And, Ken let his relationship with the former president ate into his common sense and he forgot this day would come. I thought a fearless minister of finance wh wouldn't listen to anyone (like him) would boldly face the consequences of his decisions rather than ran away from accountability. No one is guilty untill proven innocent, but there's no point being on-the-run if you have nothing to hide.

It was not Ghana's under-educated or uneducated that advocated or championed dual citizenship; it was our so-called educated folks including the moronic, selfish and myopic political zealots trained at Ghana universities who, pardon my bluntness, are too dumb to accept a decision that literally says Ghanaians educated and trained outside our shores are better than those educated and trained here in Ghana.

There were a few of us who vehemently opposed the appointment of Ken Ofori-Atta as the finance minister. People like Kofi Bentil and others who lacked foresight but bluff with their law degrees and thump their chest as the new "king kong" of our time argued against those of us with principles and foresight. I dare say that only fools would believe that a presumed successful and brilliant Ken Ofori-Atta would leave his successful life in America to come help a bunch of naive, classroom educated but ignorant people because of his love for Ghana. Did we collectively forget what Ken did to Ghana earlier when he took millions from SSNIT?

Why would the US government ask to cancel dual citizenship? Yet we turn on our radios and TV or read news prints and find people like Kofi Bentil and others still at post and shamelessly talking to a bunch of ill-informed listeners pretending to offer advice worth a hill of beans.

Do we still not have Ghanaians who will vote for NPP candidates come hell or high water? Where are the hospitals that Dr. Bawumia, Akufo-Addo and Ken Ofori-Atta built that could cure anyone in Ghana? But Ofori-Atta knew where to go to heal himself with the money he took from a nation of incompetent and misinformed voters. Let us not blame Ken Ofori -Atta; we sought him out and our Ghana educated elite class justified his appointment.

We got what we deserve and will suffer the same fate if we continue, as voters, to listen to the likes Kofi Bentil, Miracle Aboagye, Abronye and the talking heads who occupy our radio and TV airwaves talking about things they pretend to know; they're all used car salesmen.

Had the media been on Ofori-Atta's tail regarding his lies and looting, he would not have looted so much and absconded to the USA. Even after he left office and flew away to the USA, Ofori-Atta continued to lie that he was there for medical care and that he would return to Ghana voluntarily upon completion of his treatment. Ofori-Atta is a crook, and crooks abounds in all colours. Other countries outside experience high levels of corruption, but those countries often take steps to go after the thieving bastards. Ghana media only knows how to run its mouth, just like the Ghana politicians who continuously condemn condemn but fail take drastic action against corruption. Corruption is an equal opportunity crime, not a crime relegated to a particular colour. It's even surprising that the media in Ghana has not even bothered to ask President Akufo-Addo to comment on the actions of his ran-away Finance Minister Ofori-Atta.
