The Forestry Commission could be given the status of a 'police organisation', with all the necessary powers, specifically to enforce laws related to forestry management in the country. It should be adequately equiped and funded for the tasks involved, taking into consideration, present day threats, including the organised and 'militant' posture of illegal minning operatives. On top of all this, accountability in the operations of the commission must by very strict.

I support the idea. We should also turn the environmental health units of the assemblies to environmental police. Ghana is too dirty due to indiscipline. Go to our markets and see how they're littered with plastics. People just throw garbage anywhere, people building without toilets, sellers tjrowing garbage into the gutters, indiscriminate defecation, etc. We need sanitation and hygiene police or soldiers since Ghanaians seems to not fear police to go around and check behaviour of people and stop this indiscipline

There is No need for the Forestry Commission to be granted any Paramilitary Status. The Ghana Armed Forces are there to protect, defend and serve in any capacity. Use the Military Force to support The Forestry Sector in the Fight against GALAMSEY Activities. They should be properly armed with instructions Not to take any Prisoners. These GALAMSEY TERRORISTS are international gangsters and criminals hellbent to Destroy Ghana.
Good move
