This is the remaining payment of the $3 billion loan. IMF does not give the whole amount. They divide it in several payments. With this payment the total received is $2.83 out of $3 billion.

The IMF loan is dispatch in trenches and there is nothing anyone can if not, why didn't Ato Forson reject it?
Under NDC and Mahama between 2012-16, they went for a loan of $980million with the Asantehene leading them else, they couldn't approach the world body because they saw Mahama and his cabinet as "too foolish to be given such an amount".

Ghana is a buy and sell country (import driven), if we use all our dollars and pay our external debt at once, they will be no dollar in the system. Cedi will fall like a rock, price of everything will shoot up, because we import almost everything. Petrol, tomatoes, rice, chicken, second hand clothing...
