Nonsensical assertion from a religiously bigoted character who cannot think properly for himself. What is the evidence you have that moslems parents use their positions of influence to get their "weak" children into such schools, but not Christians doing same? It is characters like you who make the white man who brought their religion to Africa say that blacks have low IQ. What are the so-called underseved demands you are alluding to? It is sad that those of you claiming to be God's people (christians) resort to peddling falsehood just to gain support for the unnecessary things that is going on; how can a simple demand of moslems girls to be allowed to fast and pray at their own spare time be a bother to anyone? One of my daughters attended Holy Child and obe of my sons is currently at Adisadel, and in both schools, moslems are allowed to pray in their spare time, and also allowed to fast during Ramadan. Those schools have christian values which moslems have not challenged or disrespected simply because they are allowed to pray and fast. Why can't Wesley Girls do same? Some of you are agents of provocation, division and religious.intolerance; a trait that is completely not Ghanaian.

Kojo Sromani clear off overthrew, use your real Muslim name and stop being a coward. Who told you that Islam is n9t foreign religion in Ghana? Bishop Jerman College, St Monica's, name them. You Muslema should also come mention the relics and legacies of your foreign religion. Mention only one in Greater Accra Region. Is it only about building Mosques within every one kilometer? You marry three, four , five and six wives, giving birth everywhere. Don't you know the need to invest in schools also for them? Christian Mission schools have been established to extend Christian faith and hence there are Christian values, ethos and disciplines, that is what keeps them so attractive with quality and academic excellence, and that would not be compromised for any other faith practises, not Hinduism, not Budhism, nor African priesthood practice, Atheism, Islam or any other . Go invest in schools and give Christian mission schools some break

Tell me how a moslem student praying in her spare time or fasting during Ramadan affects discipline. Some of you are just ridiculous. The intolerance is just becoming too much. Why don't you advocate that the government stops funding the school so that the Church will take over fully. They can tge dobasctheu wish without recourse to the GES rules; they have said that they want to take over, and yet want the state to continue funding them; you cannot eat your cake and have it. This reminds me of the Cathedral. When the state fully funds everything from salaries to logistics, Including the freebies for all students, infrastructure and administrative expenses, the school becomes more public in nature. In the US and other developed countries, faith-based schools fo not run on state subvention. They operate purely as private entities; if this happens in Ghana today, I can bet my last cedi that most of you people making ridiculous religiously bigoted statements will not be able to afford attending those schools. This is a fact that cannot be denied; examples abound in the faith-based universities which are run as private entities. We have lived peacefully together for decades without any roblems, so let us not allow little things to devide us and and create unnecessary tension amongst us.

Wise and strongly worded statement. Minister of Education decided to place most of their Islam ladies to Wesley Girl High Secondaty School and thereafter came back playing his propaganda gimmick to demonise the long standing reputation of Wey Gey Hey. Why has he decided to place most of their Muslim sisters there. Wesley Girls High School is a Christian Mission School founded as a means to extend the Methodist or Christian faith. Even the perception that it is tax payers money that funds the school so government funds be withdrawn is flawed and a big fallacy! Who says Christians do not form the largest bracket of tax payers in Ghana? Do Christian s not pay tax? Take Mfantsipim, Adisadel, St. Augustine, Prempeh Pope John, College, St. Louis, St. Xavier Francis, Ola, St. Paul, Aburi Girls, Mawuli, Bishop Herman College, St. Monica's, Krobo Girls name them. Take them out of Ghana Secondary educational system and the matter speaks for itself. In any case, the School placement system is not a random exercise,. It is done by choice or choice of school. Nobody is under any compulsion or forced to choose Wesley Girls High School. After all we have purely Government schools like Achimota College, West African Secondary School, Ghana Secondary Technical School ( GSTS) Chemu, Tema Secondary School,Tamale Secondary School, Ghana National etc to choose. In as much as Christian Mission schools are concerned as the extension of Christian faith, Christian values, principles and ethos will not be compromised for Hinduism, Arkanka practice, African traditional priesthood, Artheism practice, Buddhist or any other faith or religion. Let the other religion faith also learn from the Christian missions and build quality schools that will embrace discipline, principles and excellence. That will help us all

The question of whether government-funded Methodist secondary schools should accept Muslim students touches upon legal frameworks, educational policy, and the religious ethos of faith schools.
Based on general principles, Ghana government funded faith schools not only should but are required to accept students of all faiths, including Muslim students. I think the Ghana President stated what is in the MoU when addressing the Peace Council. It appears Ghana is at a cross road where some folks cannot accept cohabitation, integration, and life style of others (albeit caution). The past Rastafarian hair style saga at Achimota School is one that comes to mind. Let below factors guide people and let it sink in (no pun intended).
1. The Principle of Inclusivity in Ghana Government Funded-Methodist Schools:
In Ghana, regarding religious affiliated schools such as the Methodist-affiliated schools, it's explicitly required for their schools to be fully inclusive and serve their local community, welcoming pupils of all faiths and none. The Methodist-affiliated schools aim for a strong Christian ethos but not for religious exclusivity.
Government Funding: Schools that receive substantial funding from the Ghana government, are required to adhere to national admission codes and non-discrimination laws. This places significant constraints on Methodist-affiliated schools ability to select students based only on faith.
Serving the Community: Ghana government-funded schools are generally meant to serve their local and extended geographical communities. Excluding students based solely on faith would undermine this core public service function.
Should Ghana schools be a place where it would be OK to implement 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' when it comes to a student's religious affiliation? Far fetched....but don't push it, folks.

When it comes to religion it is a different ballgame for people regardless of your good economic performance. The president should have kept quiet until the Supreme Court judgment. He has shown the side he lean on in this straightforward matter. There is no way the mission schools who were established by missionaries long before independence would allowed other parallel faiths in their campuses. Our constitution recognize three religions, Christians, Traditionalist and Islamic. How is it possible to manage students at secondary schools more importantly mission schools when everyone want to do their own things. JM if not check would create doom for the NDC

Is amazing that the secretary who sign this statement did not see the numerious contractions in this press release. In one breath, the Old Girls touted it's history and tradition of inclusiveness and non-discriminatory policeis. Yet, on the 2nd part, clearly stated that the school can make allowance for other faith to be practise on campus. And the lies being told here is unbelievable. We all know the school used to allow non-methodist pastors to visit the school on weekends to minister and worship with their denominational students. Still the simply question to be answer are these
1. Did the school restrict muslim girls from having their daily prayer on their own private time?
2. Were the muslim girls forced to attend and eat in the dinning halls during the muslim month of fasting?
3.Are the girls forced to attend special deliverance services(mind you not the regular sunday school worship) where the girls are targeted for prayers to cast out demons in them?
4. Did the school Chaplain, in particular, and other teachers not tell the muslim students that they will not pass their final exams unless they become christians?
We are waiting for the school's board to respond the directive of the SC to respond to these allegation. So far, we know they are evading service of the writs from the court. But eventually they will have to answer to these questions.
