Why appoint a known political actor friend to that office and somehow pray it succeeds, it's doesn't add up. The OSP is a mind game created to play on our intelligence.

  I hope that criminals like Professor Mike Quaye and his Akyem Tiny population of the Eastern region are listening. Mike Quaye wants the Independent Office of the Special Prosecution abolished because Mike Quaye and his son have stolen $650 million US dollars and he doesn't want to be investigated. So these Akyem Abuakwa CRIMINALS are agitating day and night to undermine the same institution they set up to challenge the status quo. The NPP and NDC politicians are worried about their stolen monies from the Ghana borrowed money are being investigated and creating bad impression in the eyes of the Ghana electorate who would use it to make informed decisions about who to vote for. Let there be openness, transparency and accountability and all the thieves of the Ghana borrowed money MUST face justice from the rigorous of the law. In the UK, we have the National Audit Office NAO that is a public watchdog that is independent and reports only to Parliament. The OSP must be made to report to the Ghana Parliament that is made up of the NPP and the NDC. Both party would use the OSP investigation to attack each other thus educating the Ghana electorate. Ghana defaulted on its international loans and interest payments to the IMF and the World Bank in 2022. Ghana is a FAILED STATE. The USA Congress and the Senate have banned Ghana from assessing any US Government developmental assistance programs because the NPP AKYEM Abuakwa CRIMINALS Akuffo Addo government cheated US companies during negotiations and implementation of the creditors haircuts including the stealing of the Ghana poor pensioners money. The OSP needs to employ highly intelligent patriotic Ghanaians who love Ghana first to fight corruption......

  Instead of blaming others for the situation with the OSP entity, I will suggest you, Dr. Kojo, carefully examine the sandbox upon which OSP structures were built by the then president and his majority NPP majority legislators.
  
  We can all go through life blindfolded or choose to be aware of our surroundings with each step we take going forward. The NPP, as a political party, is led by classroom educated elite class who love the ideal of political power and acquiring academic credentials than acquisition of wisdom, principles, learning from the mistakes of others or from their own past mistakes.
  
  So the fate of the OSP outfit has not, is not and remains no different from all the ideas the NPP touted prior to 2014 but have failed to materialize in their government administration from 2017 through 2024. The OSP statute is all well and good but the SP and staff should never ever be a permanent government position. Why do the nations we look up to and model our system of governance and jurisprudence engage in creating multiple offices and appointing multiple OSP officers with each specifically charged with the investigation and prosecution of different a uniquely identified crime?
  
  Bribery, corruption, mismanagement and corruption related offenses, per NPP's own beloved ex-president J. A. Kufour has been with humans throughout our history. An OSP office, no matter how large the staff is, will fall to the very ills that afflict all humans. It should not come to anyone with basic common sense and understanding why free SHS, the cathedral, the OSP, NADCO, Planting for food and almost all presumed intervention programs initiated by the NPP failed.
  
  The NPP as a political party love the benefits of African political power that enables individuals to steal, rob, mismanage, misuse taxpayer money and the dogged pursuit and destruction of people with more love for a Ghana that benefits all. The haste to win power by the NPP has no room for reasoning; it had no time to think of a functioning, effective and efficient OSP setup, a free SHS that require adequate existing infrastructure and tools of education; it's the same with even a so-called promise to God to build him a cathedral.
  
  But in all of their failures as a collection of people collectively called the NPP, each NPP political figure has gotten filthy rich without moral compass, foresight or integrity. I dare anyone in the NPP to show they were rich beyond their years prior to working for the Kufour or Akufo-Addo administrations.
  
  I double-dare anyone to explain why each of the NPP's own manifesto listed social interventions programs and projects have failed spectacularly. Would the free SHS have failed if we had 95 percent JSS and SHS site with adequate infrastructure, teaching and support staff, books, food and etc? Would the OSP office have failed if there was an OSP charged with galamsey; an OSP responsible for procurement breaches; an OSP for mismanagement of taxpayer monies and etc with each office having no more than 2-years to complete charges and adjudication of their cases?
  
  Would the NPP not continue to have positive role in government if the party had members, even if few, with more brain power for principles, foresight, truthfulness, premonition and love for mother Ghana over personal riches? I rest my case.

Akufo ado also did some good things, eg ghana card and creation of new regions and settling the dagbon chieftency crisis not to mention interchanges, but no one mentions any of those. All that we think of him is that he's devilish. Why? He allowed corruption to flourish by crippling the OSP. Mahama should warn his ministers who are beginning to encroach the territory of the OSP for selfish intents. If the same comes Akufo ado would look like an angel
