President John Dramani Mahama has been seen in a video personally driving one of the new Armored Cobra 4 vehicle purchased for the Ghana Police Service.
This vehicle is part over 40 special armored combat vehicles he handed over to the Ghana Police Service on December 4, 2025.
In the viral video on Facebook, the president, wearing a helmet, is seen entering and driving one of the armored cars during the ceremony held at the Police Headquarters in Accra.
Speaking to officers, President Mahama said the new vehicles would significantly enhance police operations and improve the safety of both personnel and the public.

He emphasised that the vehicles should be used strictly for their intended purpose, urging the service to continue protecting citizens across the country.
The Minister of Interior, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, assured that the vehicles would be deployed effectively and called on the public to remain calm, noting that the police are “ready and equipped” to ensure national safety.
Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno warned criminal networks that the service is prepared to dismantle all syndicates.
