But, of course, since we’re in the minority, we are questioned. This should be expected, I guess.

However, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) prayed both ways, thrice a day and five times a day, to show Muslims that both ways are permissible.

Additionally, (keep in mind, I’m not trying to start some war here, folks) isn’t praying thrice a day more convenient? Pairing up the prayers saves so much more time, and is much easier for the average person who goes to school and/or works, and has a busy everyday schedule.

But, let me make one thing clear - Islam tells us to be Muslims. Not Shias or Sunnis, or any other sect out there. Neither Sunnis nor Shias are right, because we do not obey Allah's order of not separating into different sects.

Why do we argue over how many times a day we pray, even though we all pray five prayers, when there are much more pressing matters, such as why these sects even exist?

The best thing is to avoid choosing those schools. After all some prominent Muslims in Ghana did not attend mission schools. This will also Challenge them to start putting up some great schools especially in the northern parts of Ghana which they can easily do and the government will give them the same assistance. Let the great chief imam , Dr Bawumia and Haruna Idrisu start this move and ask for sponsorship from the rich Islamic countries now.

Until we integrate more and work together, we will continue to be at where we are. What has fasting by few students who identify themselves as Muslims and want to fast during Ramadan got to do with the values of mission schools? If those schools were formed with the sole aim of denying Muslims admission, they should state it clearly. But once it’s a second cycle institution, every Ghanaian will expect that it will be tolerant and respect the faith of other religions. Please missionary schools should just state clearly that Muslims are not welcome

Look, between the two parties, Muslim students and the Christian faith based schools, the burden of flexibility and accommodating students of other faiths lie with those faith based schools more than anybody else. After all, they were the ones who, without any coersion, accepted the conditions of the government when they WILLINGLY applied for government subvention. So, even though you're entitled to your opinion, an opinion based on twisted facts lacks legimacy. How do you accept a bilateral agreement and later turn around and subtly abrogate the agreement under the pretext that you're out to protect your Christian doctrines? It's as if someone is telling Gey Hey to throw out their principles. It's even more ridiculous to argue that merely allowing Muslims to fast and observe their daily prayers tantamount to forcing Gey Hey to stop being Methodist Christians. This is a betrayal of an agreement and recalcitrance at It's best
