Govt shd take them off its payroll and let them pay their staff. This will free govt from some of its expenditure which it can use on less endowed schools. It will also help in future plans of abolishing boarding housing in SHS. Wesley Girls & Presec Legon can charge fees like GIS or AIS. We can't continue to deceive ourselves having these schools as public schools, but only few greedy Ghanaians can have their kids going there.

When did the govt returned those schools to the churches?
Personalty, I believe as a nation we should about 10 year PLAN of De-Boardinising about 95% of our SHS. We can only do that if our road networks are improved tremendously and secondly, our transport system should move away from trotro to proper buses.
The remaing 5% of the schools like OWASS, PREMPEH COLLEGE, ACHIMOTA, WESLEY GIRLS AND OTHER GRADE A SCHOOLS, should be privatised and those who want to send their wards there are ready to pay. And should be done in such a away that every region of the country should have no less that 5 of those schools.

The TRUTH hurts. That is THE SILENT TRUTH. ASHANTIS WILL NOT VOTE FOR BAWUMIA. Even USA vote on tribal lines. White men and most especially white women refused to vote for Kamala Harris because she is black and Indian heritage. The USA whites voted for Trump even though they knew that Donald Trump is a racist and a bigot. We all vote on tribal lines and so be warned the SILENT MAJORITY SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED. DR Adutwum is the best person. In the USA-the Democratic Party gave Kamala Harris one chance and she LOST to Donald Trump very badly and so the DEMOCRATIC PARTY are looking for a new CANDIDATE. Kamala Harris has moved and she now wants to be the Governor of the State of Carlifornia. Bawumia was given the same chance as Kamala Harris and he BLEW IT. Because Bawumia was part of the corrupt NPP Akuffo Addo government- Bawumia was the Vice President- Chairman of the National Economic Management Committee and he failed with the collapse of the Ghana economy, hardships everywhere, pensioners money stolen by force etc etc. Bawumia IS A FAILED ECONOMIC MESSIAH. Bawumia to go to WALEWALE like Kamala Harris as Vice President of the USA-gone to Carlifornia. Bawumia-you are a LIAR, you are corrupt as Akuffo Addo.
Excuse me- Bawumia HAD THE chance- He was the Vice President for 8 years but he performed VERY POORLY. NDC Mahama won 57% and Bawumia 43%. The North opf Ghana Regions DID NOT VOTE FOR HIM. The reason why Bawumia had the chance in 2024 was the Akuffo Addo bribing Chairman Wontumi with JUICY CONTRACTS, 450 Million US dollars free loan from AXIM bank, Roads Contract etc-then Wontumi being a fool ditched ALAN KYEREMATEN with the Akuffo Addo Akyem Abuakwa plan-BREAK THE 8 YEARS- It did NOT work. NPP lost in HISTORICAL TERMS. Bawumia IS A COLLATERAL DAMAGE- HE is A MAMPRUSI AND THE BAWKU CONFLICT IS BETWEEN THE MANPRUSIS AND THE KUSASIS- BAWUMIA IS A THREAT TO GHANA NATIONAL SECURITY. BAWUMIA IS ALSO A MUSLIM. THEN DR ADUTWUM IS THE NEXT BEST ALTERNATIVE.9823187436543

There is a difference between a Mission School and Public School. Mission School:
Owned or founded by a religious organization (e.g., Catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian, Anglican). Even if the government now supports it, the church or mission still has influence over management and values.
A Public School Fully owned and managed by the government (Ministry of Education or Ghana Education Service). There’s no religious body involved in administration. Achimota is an example.
My concern, however, is that many within the Muslim community tend to prioritize building grand mosques over investing in schools. It would be more constructive if equal effort were devoted to establishing educational institutions, rather than depending on others to build them and later seeking religious privileges within those spaces.
So Prof Azar come again.

I am sure the Muslin people will demand to build mosques in our mission schools if we allow them to have their way. Please Mr Azar think through the logic well. If one religious group is able to build a school, for which reason it is categorized as a mission school, what makes you think that this school should be treated as LA/MA school? Besides, candidates know the schools built by the government and their respective religious groups; they are free to go there. Let us always keep in mind the wise teachings of the Existentialist Philosophers that man is free to choose what he thinks is good for him but responsibility is attached to his choice. It is the same reason political Philosophers believe that man is born free but wherever he goes he is in chains. Thus, if you choose to go to a mission school be responsible enough to abide by the rules therein because by that very choice you have limited your freedom. History about education in Ghana will help you to understand that schools were established by the early missionaries and merchants for specific purpose and identity.

Kwaku “know-it-all” Azar, after you graduated from schools in Ghana you are living comfortably in the US and using what happens there to be applied here, why don’t you come here and join those who refused to go migrate in search of greener pastures?
Let it be known to you that the missionaries who set up the schools had the primary aim to train the students for the work of Christianity, alongside which other course were introduced so that when they graduate and go to the field, Christianity would be preached. Government later found out that discipline was more pronounced in these schools and so absorbed them. So if anyone chooses to enter any mission school, the person must be prepared to go by the way the school operates, no one is denying any group access but when you choose to be there, go by their principles,
Do you practice the lackadaisical attitude we have in Ghana here over there, try and if it works, your opinions will matter.
It’s not everything from the US that must be considered here.

This religious issue should be handled with care. I think every institution has its rules and regulations. If you can’t obey, then don’t go there. An example is CHAG health facilities and GHS. Whilst the MedSupt is the Spending Officer in GHS, the Senior Nurse and the Reverend Father are the ones who control the accounts. MedSupt is not privy to the financial management of the institution. However government pays the staff, just as govt pays staff in mission schools. I am a Christian, my children attend a Muslim JSS. I was asked to buy HIJAB for all of them, which I did. I don’t think a Roman Catholic attending a Moslem school shall be allowed to openly display his ROSARY and be reciting every now and then. This issue of HIJAB/ ROSARY, is just a powerful play and to satisfy human beings. True religion is in the heart.
