Govt shd take them off its payroll and let them pay their staff.This will free govt from some of its expenditure which it can use on less endowed schools.It will also help in future plans of abolishing boarding housing in SHS. Wesley Girls & Presec Legon can charge fees like GIS or AIS. We can't continue to deceive ourselves having these schools as public schools, but only few greedy Ghanaians can have their kids going there.

The remaing 5% of the schools like OWASS, PREMPEH COLLEGE, ACHIMOTA, WESLEY GIRLS AND OTHER GRADE A SCHOOLS, should be privatised and those who want to send their wards there are ready to pay. And should be done in such a away that every region of the country should have no less that 5 of those schools.

Owned or founded by a religious organization (e.g., Catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian, Anglican). Even if the government now supports it, the church or mission still has influence over management and values.
A Public School Fully owned and managed by the government (Ministry of Education or Ghana Education Service). There’s no religious body involved in administration. Achimota is an example.
My concern, however, is that many within the Muslim community tend to prioritize building grand mosques over investing in schools. It would be more constructive if equal effort were devoted to establishing educational institutions, rather than depending on others to build them and later seeking religious privileges within those spaces.

I did attended a mission school in the late 80’s and early 90’s. During our days we had moslems but they never question about putting on hijab because they know very well it was a Christian established school and they have decided to come to that school themselves. Please let stop this and respect each other’s religion. I can’t send my kids to a Muslim establish school and thinking they will not use the hijab.

Fact is, Islam has brought nothing but wars, genocide, calamity, etc. to Africa. Simply take a look at all the conflict regions in Africa. It won't take long to realise that , majority are fuelled by Islamic sponsors from the Middle East.

The criminal intention of the paedophile and lawless crook Muhammed's Islamic religion is to wage war of attrition and take over the entire Africa, no matter how long it takes. They have been sponsoring Islamic jihadists to terrorise innocent citizens to forcibly convert to Islam or lose their lives. West Africa is only lucky because the Islamic religion is being contained and put in check by Israel and America in the Middle East. Moslems will celebrate and jubilate another victory over Christians in Ghana.

Muslims should never be allowed to attend Christian mission schools unless they agree to convert to Christianity.

Besides, candidates know the schools built by the government and their respective religious groups; they are free to go there. Let us always keep in mind the wise teachings of the Existentialist Philosophers that man is free to choose what he thinks is good for him but responsibility is attached to his choice. It is the same reason political Philosophers believe that man is born free but wherever he goes he is in chains. Thus, if you choose to go to a mission school be responsible enough to abide by the rules therein because by that very choice you have limited your freedom. History about education in Ghana will help you to understand that schools were established by the early missionaries and merchants for specific purpose and identity.

Let it be known to you that the missionaries who set up the schools had the primary aim to train the students for the work of Christianity, alongside which other course were introduced so that when they graduate and go to the field, Christianity would be preached. Government later found out that discipline was more pronounced in these schools and so absorbed them. So if anyone chooses to enter any mission school, the person must be prepared to go by the way the school operates, no one is denying any group access but when you choose to be there, go by their principles,

Do you practice the lackadaisical attitude we have in Ghana here over there, try and if it works, your opinions will matter.

This religious issue should be handled with care. I think every institution has its rules and regulations. If you can’t obey, then don’t go there. An example is CHAG health facilities and GHS. Whilst the MedSupt is the Spending Officer in GHS, the Senior Nurse and the Reverend Father are the ones who control the accounts. MedSupt is not privy to the financial management of the institution. However government pays the staff, just as govt pays staff in mission schools. I am a Christian, my children attend a Muslim JSS. I was asked to buy HIJAB for all of them, which I did. I don’t think a Roman Catholic attending a Moslem school shall be allowed to openly display his ROSARY and be reciting every now and then. This issue of HIJAB/ ROSARY, is just a powerful play and to satisfy human beings. True religion is in the heart.
