Idi Amin was not "The icon of evil and butcher of Africa". That was western propaganda. He was a liberator. Yes, you might not like some of his style, which was unconventional. Yes, he did extreme things. He was power drunk, etc but he was not evil. His depiction in Western movies and articles as a brutal killer, eater of human flesh etc were all false; a narrative based on Eurocentric pejorative about African freedom fighters. Even the legendary Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was not spared.

Idi amin continues to be depicted in the west as the epitome of evil from the “third world” and from “dark” Africa. For sure he committed a lot of despicable acts and there is no denying that.
However, since his era the world has witnessed far more evil individuals (mostly war criminals) whose actions have led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands, even millions, whose actions make Idi Amin’s deeds pale into insignificance in comparison.
Virtually all these evil men and women to emerge AFTER Idi Amin have never been held to account for their wicked deeds because they happened to come from a more privileged part of the world.
This is why this article about Idi Amin is extraordinary hypocrisy. We live in a world where MIGHT IS RIGHT and whether you are declared evil and held accountable for your actions really depends on your nationality and ethnicity and geographical origins.

Please the CPP won all the seats in Ashanti. The UGCC didnot win a single seat in Ashanti. The UGCC won three seats only in the Eastern Region by Dr Danquah in Abuakwa Central, William Ofori Atta in Abuakwa Rural and Gerald Otto Awuma in Asogli Akpini.Please Dr Busia who contested on the ticket of the Asante Kotoko Society was defeated by Bediako Poku.Asanteman Council sent Dr Busia to the Legislative Assembly. Dr Nkrumah who was in.prison defeated Obetsebi Lamptey in Accra Central and the Governor, Sir Charles Arden Nobel Clarke released Dr Nkrumah from prison to form the government. Under the 1951 constitution, Dr Nkrumah became the Leader of Government Business. In March 1952 the constitution nwas amended and the Legislative Assembly elected Dr Nkrumah as the Prime Minister .Please please it was Ashanti who enthroned Dr Nkrumah as Prime Minister in 1952 and in 1954. Please Ashanti was CPP before the National Liberation Movement which was formed by aggrieved Ashanti CPP rebels which were expelled from the CPP on 5th June 1954 for refusing to step down as lndependents.Please the NLM battled Dr Nkrumah but normalcy returned.Please Dr Nkrumah worked with the Ashanti CPP. I am Ugandan and lived under Amin. It's true that Amin especially his henchmen caused a lot of suffering to Ugandans. However, Amin was fiersly nationalistic and exposed Ugandans to value themselves as black Africans. His actions directly resulted into Ugandans becoming businessmen and women. Besides, he made foreigners especially Indians to respect if not fear black Ugandans. This is in contrast to places like Kenya where a white man is served and black Africans are ignored in Hotels. So, Amin was a proud African!

Well, even in death, Amin still has enemies who would say strange things about him that he can not rise to defend or denounce. What a world! Now, tell me about the history of Ghana, GhanaWeb, how the UP metamorphosed to NPP, and the great conspiracy to destroy Nkrumah even today. Napo said,'mu Kwame Nkrumah nu'.
