Wrong diagnosis often leads to the wrong treatment. People advocating for longer presidential term have got it wrong.The mass appointment of political supporters to the civil service resulting to a non professional and politicised civil means the civil service is not capable of providing objective evidence-based advice to government. Under these circumstances, increasing presidential term will not make the civil service professional, therefore there will likely be no improvement in advice provided to government hence no improvement to performance.
