What do we expect when MPs double as ministers which in itself is more than a full time job. We should rethink this idea of MPs becoming ministers if we want to see an effective and efficient legislative arm

Hello youth of Ghana. You can take your own life with medicine......for instance 15 paracetamol at once. Or combine medicine and akpeteshie or weedicide.

This is a weak excuse. The current government has about 185 members of parliament on their side. The government has barely 60 ministers. Deduct 60 from 185, and you'll still have about 125 MPs left in the majority, assuming all ministers are MPs, which isn't typically the case. Clearly, the justification doesn't hold up.

Honorable Amankwaa Manu should try and absent himself a little bit and visit his constituency. The people of Foase are crying for development. Their roads are bad and also need a car park. The only major street in The town is choked with taxi cars and aboboyaa and what have you? There is no lorry station in the town of about 10,000 inhabitants. The town is really in a sorry situation which needs the attention of the MP,who hails from that particular town. This is very shameful.

That list doesn't tell a complete story. Many MPs, mostly cabinet members, run to Parliamentary meetings, sign in, and then quickly leave to conduct ministerial business or private business. Let the MPs sign in at time of arrival and sign out at the conclusion of parliamentary proceedings, and that will give Ghanaians a more accurate representation of which members are actually engaged in these proceedings. Cabinet members may be pressed for time to attend many proceedings, but that's a reason why Ghana needs to have Members of Parliament give up their parliamentary seats when appointed to the cabinet. For the other members who aren't members of the cabinet, their absenteeism is often due to them choosing to take care of their various private business instead of being in proceedings to take care of their parliamentary obligation.

It's indeed a good idea for voters to vote them out of office. However, until elections take place, the Speaker of Parliament has the authority to sanction Members who constantly fail to show up for proceedings, but he's not carrying out his duty, and that emboldens many Members to act as if Parliament were their family business that whey can show up whenever they choose to.

Congratulations to them......most of them are new and they don't have any place to go. If you see the way our parliamentarians hop to New York here, it makes you wonder if they don't have anything to do in Ghana. Wasting tax payers money to come here only to shop and chill and enjoy their vacation is just annoying. And once you see them, you can tell because they behave so scary and behave like villagers.
