You are aware that if the pharmacy can refund such a purchase, then the pharmacy can also put the said medications back on the shelf for resale to another person, right?

I can understand the argument for refund if the customer/patient got the wrong medication, it's mislabeled, or adulterated in some form.

There are many reasons why drugs bought and taken out of a pharmacy are non refundable. There are many dangers of taking drugs back. A pharmacy will be held liable by law, for any drug sold to a customer that is fake or has been tampered with. This could even collapse a pharmacy from lawsuits and possibly result in criminal indictment of the pharmacist. Even if a drug's packaging is sealed, the pharmacy can never tell if it is the same package that was sold to the customer.
You never know what a determined person can do to destroy you or your business.

This character is one of those scoundrels who think that joining the army gives them licence to intimidate and assault the citizenry. There is no impunity from the normal laws of the land. This kind of lawlessness was very prevalent during the Rawlings era, and we all remember the climate of fear and intimidation that prevailed then. No country that respects the Rule of Law can allow this behaviour under any circumstances. AN IMMEDIATE DISHONOURABLE DISCHARGE FROM THE FORCES IS UNAVOIDABLE. Throw this rogue soldier out of the army immediately and then let him face the full force of the law. This should serve as an warning to those similarly planning to misuse their positions.
In the meantime, Pharmacies in Ghana need to educate their employees about their duties and responsibilities to the general public which is primarily TO SERVE THE PEOPLE.

Even during the time of Efo Julor Jeremiah Rawlings, Officers of the Military did not involve themselves in such stupidities. I keep saying that such Military Nonsense cannot be taking place in Uncle Sam’s country because every qualified person owns more than one Gun, sometimes including Assault Rifles. The security at the Pharmacy who could have been in the Military before, or Police Personnel would have handled him with ease. By now he would be in Police custody. He would face the Judge and sentenced into Prison after being charged with a Felony. He would be ready to spend some years in Prison. Let's get back to the case in question why did the attendant sell drugs to a minor?
GHC65 drugs is a substantial amount they shouldn't have sold the drugs to him. My advice to all Ghanaians always make sure you buy from big and recognised Pharmacies, it's problematic dealing with those table tops ones

Last Sunday at Kaneshie this chemist was singing gospel songs all along while I was getting some medicines. I realsied she wrote the wrong dosages on all 3 drungsd I bought. They don't respect, are not professional, arrogant, seem uncaring, and above all stupid.

I am not here to justify the assault of civilians by the military officer. However, after carefully watching the video and listening closely to what the soldier said, certain details seem worth noting. He stated, and I quote:

“I came and asked for the price, and the attendant said it was GHS 25. I later sent a small boy to buy the same item, and it was sold to him for GHS 50. Is that the right thing to do?”

From this account, it appears the lady in the video was wrong to take out her phone and record the officer while he was simply demanding a refund.

That said, this does not justify the soldier’s use of force. The incident highlights a deeper issue—the need for better customer service training. When the soldier entered the pharmacy visibly angry, the attendant should have remained calm and professional, explaining the situation politely. Instead, responding with, “Why are you shouting?” only escalated the tension. Such a reaction is both provocative and unhelpful. A well-trained customer service representative would have handled the matter more tactfully.

Furthermore, the female customer violated the officer’s personal rights by recording him without his consent.

Nonetheless, the soldier acted far beyond acceptable limits. His aggression towards civilians is unacceptable and must be addressed. As a member of the military, he is expected to protect civilians, not harm them. Appropriate disciplinary measures should be taken to ensure accountability and reinforce the military’s duty to safeguard, not intimidate, the public.
