Such criminals need to be educated and made to fit well in society. I don’t blame the Judges because the lady apparently planned for the thievery but she should have rendered justice with mercy. I will want the Phone number of the lady, that of the elders of her religion because I don’t want to pay money into wrong hands. I am also prepared to pause with my friends and some church members to establish her with some money to start a decent and new business of her own. If she has children, they are going to suffer very much through no fault of theirs. The Sentence is obnoxious. She could have been given about two months of intensive Community Service. Can the Politicians, Rev. Ministers, Immams go to rescue her even before I make the payment? Let her Community members help her. She also needs to be educated not to do that again. A good Christian or any other Religious education can help her. My question to our Judicial system is that what is their criteria when it comes to sentencing people who are found guilty? Is based on preferences or what?
Somebody still a goat and he is sentenced to 10 years in prison but a politician steals millions and billions of cedis and they receive a small sentence. I think it’s about time we reset our Judiciary. There’s a complete scale of imbalance here in Ghana
