That area is in town so at what speed was the Driver moving? It is unfortunate that accidents do happen but most of the time, it is due to the fault of the Drivers. Was it not due to Overspeading? Yes, the moment some of our Drivers get behind the wheel, they lose all their reasons and drive like drunken maniacs at indescribable speed. It is also true that some of these Drivers put some alcohol into their system before they sit behind the wheel.
Some of them also not only drive drunk but also Uber the influence of Drugs, especially Weed which is very common and not that expensive in Ghana. So, they speed along without any proper functioning of their Gumptions. Such stupid behaviors need to stop.
It should also be the rule that very Long Distance Drivers of Commercial Vehicles should have two Cerified Drivers so that one can drive while the other sleeps so that our Drivers don’t drive sleepy.
It will also be important and reasonable that Drivers should have regular Alcohol and Drugs Testing Centers. Those who do the testing should not be frequently changed. When Commercial Drivers get to their destinations, they must be immediately tested for Alcohol and Drugs. Then, their Test results must be compared from the time they left their stations to the time they arrived at their destinations. Is it that difficult to drive without being under the influence of alcohol or drugs? No, the Ministry of Transportation should be able to pull up their sleeves to work efficiently.

I am sick and tired of we we the people always blaming government or government authorities for doing basics for us but we the people can’t use common sense. I see drivers drunk driving passenger cars and the passengers said nothing. I see drivers over speeding and passengers said nothing, I have witness passenger been humiliated by the multiple in a van because he single handily advised a driver to slow down because of inappropriate driving maneuver. Most deaths would have been averted and the dead will live with us today if it in the advance countries. ..Very soon the National MINIMUM WAGE for 2026 for public and civil servants will be announced by the government through negotiations with the Labour Unions. Last year the government insulted Labour by offering only 10% pay increase across. Because of the goodwill of Labour for the then new government No agitation against this meagre offer was made. As a result workers continue to work in abject POVERTY. However 2026 cannot be business as usual where government gives insulting low percentage increase to workers. There is astronomical increases in all UTILITIES namely electricity and water and what have you to be paid by these already poorly paid Ghanaian civil servants. In 2026 CLOGSAG and TUC EXECUTIVES must and should know that poor public and civil servants will not accept any pay rise less than 50%.

I suggest, perdistran crossing need to be done as soon as possible.
We don't need much money to do the project. We need colour paint the perdistran cross. 2
Then create normal flashing colour pole both opposite ways in order to pay attention to the crossers. Very disastrous. Just normal pole with flashing. Any sensible driver will stop for them to cross

It is about time the Transportation ministry, in collaboration with sub-agencies, created a division responsible for annual roadworthiness inpections of all commercial vehicles that has a load capacity inclusive of all buses and 8 to 24 wheelers. The experiment has gone on for far too long expecting vehicle owners to act in goodwill; they've all proven that there's less value to a Ghanaian life while vehicle insurance premiums places more value on vehicles than occupants.
