Life is not forever for a mere PhD program to go way over 4 yrs. How many patents have the 10yr PhD developedd forr Ghana and how many years problem rresolution have they broughtt to their societies?
What's going on Ghana? That man must be removed immediatley from office. He doesn't deserve it.

Philip.D is for people who prepared to work for it. There are some agencies in the world that will tell you you want a Ph.D from a tier one school. So long as Ph.D is of no value in Ghana but for it being a social grace this problem we ont cease.

However, when they get to job market, your delayed students couldn't perform any better than the other students, and your institution's name (GIMPA) didn't add any extra value to their certificates, so apart demonic agenda, what else is this rector trying to achieve?

Having Doctoral committee is aormal practice and it help the student and the supervisor in a sense that the suggestion from the committee members help strengthen the thesis son that when it is sent to external examination it won't have issue of failure. I suggest the students should be calmed and trust the process. I suggest the supervisors must be given timelines to supervise their students and there should be periodic report on the progress of their students to the Dean of graduate school. Since most of the students are full-time workers, they need to be disciplined in term of time allocation to their studies.

I wish they are required to publish one paper in a top-tier journal before defending their theses. If this layer is introduced, it will surprise you that 90% of them.cannot complete the program.
