So why did no president see Safi Kantanka as a genuis who could have changed the country if he was given support by the thegovernment. It happens in all advanced countries. People with great ideas are supported to produce more of their products and this helpto create more jobs for the country. But in Africa if you are not a university graduate, whatever ideas you have are disrespected. If Steve Jobs or Bill Gates were Africans, there would be no Apple or Microsoft products. Are African universities a curse?

The Bill Gates and Steve Jobs didn't rely on the US government for help. They soured their funding from private equity, investment banks and investment funds. If our inventors are going to wait for government funds then nothing will happen because you and I know that the government in Ghana is always broke and going for IMF loans all the time. Our banks should step in and give low interest loans to inventors and industrialists like the late Safo and others. Dangote has build one of the biggest oil refineries in the world not with Nigerian government money but money sourced from private equity. That's how it's done all over. Ghana government can only help with tax free incentives, eliminate bureaucracy and bottlenecks in the establishment of such innovative ventures to help Ghana and create employment.

But in the US and advanced countries, they do not import second hand versions of those technological products. Their countries are the main markets for those products, that's why people are willing to help fund those ventures. Do African governments put policies in place to facilitate the selling of such products. Like creating an environment where say 10 - 20 percent of the automobile market is reserved for Ghanaian car companies. That will be an incentive for banks to push their money into such a venture. In this case even someone buying Kantanka's car is made to pay income tax.
The politicians are simply not interested in anything. Let's call a spade a spade and stop pretending. If we don't change our ways, and keep trying to explain our way out of everything we will never develop

Please sir, your assertion is false. Not every part of his vehicles was imported like you are claiming. He clearly had his label on his engine block. And besides serious nation's that took to technology began from somewhere. There's not a single nation on earth that acquired all of its technology in a day. South Korean car companies were importing their engines from Japanese car companies when they first started out. But look at the Korean cars today. The most important thing is that, we start, which is what Safo Kantanka did . What we had to do as a serious nation was to support him and build on from there but.... Apostle Safo Kantaka was an exceptional human being. People like him come once in a generation. Besides his love for God and fellow mankind, he was also a rare engineering genius. The great Man of God and Industrialist was also a quintessential nationalist and patriot who have deep love and affection for his Country, Ghana. Unfortunately, typical of the Ghanaian attitude, he was undermined by fellow Ghanaian as usual, in his effort at industrialization through engineering, science and technology. I well recall how some professors at KNUST accused him of reinvention or re-engineering and I asked myself how many simple tools these professors have been able to built, let alone the sophisticated machines and implements Apostle Safo built? This Man built cars, heavy duty industrial machines, robots and other sophisticated electronic gadgets. The naysayers, enemies and jealous ones kept on saying his vehicles were not durable enough at the time the great Apostle was lobbying for government funding to expand his production and industrialization effort especially in the automobile industry. This was plain mischief and sabotage born out of morbid jealousy because I have seen several Kantaka Vehicles ply the roads in long distance travels in regular journeys between the North and South which is over 500 Km. Kantaka Vehicles from anecdotal evidence are durable with remarkable speed and overtook most cars that struggle on roads in long distance travel with relative ease. I often see many vehicles breakdown, packed at the roadside during my regular journeys from the North to the South. I have never sighted a Kantaka vehicle packed at the roadside because of engine fault or breakdown but yet the naysayers and jealous ones will want everybody believe that his vehicles were a product of re-engineering and fake. In global trade and industry, you one is at liberty to buy raw material, partially finished or finished good to complete a project and that is not a crime.I don't have an idea as to the location of Dr. Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantaka's industrial hub. But I can imagine many of these foreigners even from industrial countries like the United States, Europe and China will pay regular visits to him to learn more about his arts and engineering as a Scientific genius. That is the difference between the Black Man and the White Man or other forward thinking racial groups like the Asian giants of China, Japan and South Korea etc.For somebody like the Great Kantaka who have not had formal education in science and technology to do what he did, is a unique and exceptional achievement by itself. If this Man was in a different continent like Europe, America and Asia he would have been held in high esteem and used to effect as a rare gem in the area of engineering, science and technology. Unfortunately, in the Black Man's world of Sub-Sahara Africa, where it is all about negativity and sabotage (Pull Him Down,PHD) syndrome, we haven't been able to tap into and utilize his God gifted knowledge to full effect and allowed him.to die with it. Ironically, we hear a lot of policy makers talk about industrialization in global era which has become a priority area for Lower, Middle, Income Countries of Sub-Sahara African Continent like Ghana. Yet still we were unable to utilize the late Apostle Kantaka for our industrial revolution when foreigners are taking full advantage of same globalization to tap into his expertise and improve their industrial drive, even for countries far more
developed than Ghana. In some jurisdictions very keen on industrialization and development, there will definitely have been policies and programs specifically capturing the Kantaka Group of Companies in the Country's National Development Plan, both medium and long term. Unfortunately, we are in a Country noted for wasting unique human resource potential based on unproductive trivialities such as politics, cronyism and nepotism in a very hostile, retrogressive, antagonistic environment plaque with endemic corruption at every level of our national life. The best the Country and the Government can do for Apostle Safo Kantaka now is to posthumously award him with the Highest National Honour.
May His Soul Rest in Perfect Peace in the Bosom of the Lord.
