  The minister may be right in his assertion. There's too much corruption in public hospitals. If any investigator is interested, he should go to the Manhyia polyclinic at night. It happened right in front of me. Laboratory guys are taking money from patients without issuing receipts, and mostly there are no doctors around so the nurses or whoever is taking care of patients prescribe Laboratory tests that are irrelevant to the condition and ask patients to go to specific facilities all because they get paid commissions for each referral. There was a case in point when one of them got close to me and snitched on the other and asked me not to go for the test prescribed for the patient I sent there. He told me the test wasn't needed. Healthcare professionals are destroying their reputation and their leaders instead of defending them should rather do their own investigations and punish their members who are destroying the profession. At the end it's the patients who suffer.

  For that de3 is through and not only in Manshiya hospital it cut across and they do it all the time not only in night maybe you went there at night It's the only department in the hospital set up that doesn't issues receipt

All the bad guys needs to be cleared and punished. I entreat journalists and the national security guys to stop focusing on the politicians alone and do some investigations in the public hospitals.

When the fish rots it begins from its head. For as long as our public servants shirk their responsibilities and are not punished for it, we are going nowhere even after privatization. Mr Minister I am sorry, this your rule of thumb solution is no Eureka, you are simply accepting and excusing dereliction of duty by our public servants, and throwing the citizens to the wolves of a profit maximizing capitalist privatization. Where do they think the government would get the money to buy equipment for all the hospitals? The leasing companies would employ them.
