And we are drowning with every little rainfall? Are they expecting an applause for this? What are they sitting on the money for while Nurses are crying that they are not being paid and our graduate doctors are sitting at home when there are shortages of doctors everywhere. We need the expenditures on infrastructure. Our community roads need fixing. Please the ministry must sit up and solve our problems rather than boasting of economic indices.

Yes, government expenditure dropped below budget (the Fiscal Plan) except public sector Payroll, but why are we being told why? There is nothing said about Revenue, which seems like also below budget (the Fiscal Plan). Failing to achieve both revenue and expenditure targets cannot on its own be a praiseworthy fiscal discipline. When public sector workers are paid and there are no resource inputs to make them work as they should, there’s nothing praiseworthy about this. BoG and Statistical Service should stop massaging the facts and truthfully report on Government’s economic management.
