Sadly, the final deciding factor will be what the Law says. Precedence is extremely important and can have far reaching consequences for similar cases in the future, so the Law courts will be extremely careful how they interpret things. While we sympathise with Daddy L's traditional wife and extended family what is recognised by the Laws of the Land is what will ultimately stand. It doesn't look good for them to be honest. To repeat the sad truth- the Laws of GHANA will have the last word and not customary practices and beliefs or whether it looks or feels right.

There's no smoke without fire. There is some reason why people were saying she poisoned Lumba.
Challenging widow hood when someone has lived with him for over 17 years. When was the last time she had sex with Lumba. When was the last time she cooked for him.
Her children will come and stay with Lumba during holidays and they knew Odo Broni was their Dad's wife

The law will not change to cater for the needs of the family of even a household name like Daddy Lumbar or for anyone else in Ghana- and that is the real tragedy in this story. In this particular case, if the law is applied as it stands this may be perceived by some to be unjust. However this sentiment is unlikely to sway the law courts sad to say. We are saddled with countless reminders of our colonial past. The very fact that we are all interacting with each other on the comments section of Ghanaweb IN ENGLISH, a foreign language is testimony enough to this fact. We have to come to terms with the fact that we'll continue for the forseeable future to be shacled to our colonial legacies whether we like it or not. Every aspect of our life has been molded and shaped by our past colonial masters, for example the way we dress, the way we communicate with each other etc. have been shaped by very powerful foreign influences. Maybe that accounts for the perceived arrogance and smugness Ghanaians and other Africans note during interactions with many citizens of former colonizing nations.

3. The family has full custody of the dead body and can choose not to involve Serwaa especially when she sent the drinks back , per tradition it indicates dissolution of marriage. So to tge family of lumba serwaa is not a wife.
4. She can therefore dwell on the German marriage but it does dictate funeral rites in the Akan tradition.

Its only the Law that decides and in Daddy case Germain Law as Daddy nullified all his Ghanaian documents. He was technically a Germain living in Ghana ( born and bred in Ghana). Unlike the UK, US and some european countries, Germany do not recognised duel citizenship. You can only be a Germain , nothing else. Daddy Lumber knew that well, that is why he did not acquired Ghana Card and always travels with his Germany passport.

This is why rich men attract "gold diggers" like bees to a honey pot. Is that fair?
