It is not for nothing that Ecuador has overtaken Ghana as the second largest cocoa growing nation in the world. The Ecuadorian farmer gets no less than 90% of the world price of cocoa. In Ghana, after being compelled to pay for the lifestyle of unproductive cocobod, our farmers barely get 65%! This country should start looking for new sources of foreign exchange because the average farmer is over 60 years old. And no farmer's child wants to be a cocoa farmer. Ghana government will reap what it has sowed....which is nothing!
