Lumba could not make a will because he cannot WILL off joint properties he had with Serwaa to Odo Broni. Moving forward Serwaa can LEGALLY take half of the property. The remaining half will be split between/among Odo Broni and Serwaa's children. THAT IS THE LAW.

Yes, the law will provide for the needs of Odo Broni's offspring but that's as far as it MAY allow. The law does NOT recognize her as THE widow. And that's that.

Unfortunately, when one dies intestate and still legally married to a woman that one married in Germany, marital laws of Germany and Ghana probate law that will decide the legality of subsequent marriages and who can inherit from the estate. The children of the legally married wife and the children of the any other women that the man bore will be entitled to inherit from the estate since Lumba died intestate. The woman that Lumba supposed married in Ghana as his second wife, regardless of the fact that she was by his side till his death, may not have any legal standing to inherit his assets but her children will be entitled to be considered as surviving heirs. None of us at this point know how the courts in Ghana will rule on the pending competing lawsuits. Since Lumba marriage in Germany was never dissolved, the Ghana courts will have to apply German marital laws to determine whether Lumba could legally marry a second spouse without first dissolving his German marriage; and the courts will also determine whether any children born out outside the German marriage can inherit from the estate. The lesson for many here is that if one engaged in a civil marriage in another country and then relocates to Ghana, it makes sense to seek legal advice before jumping into a other marriages. Lumba could have have avoided this confusion had he consulted with lawyers in Germany and Ghana before jumping into his second marriage.

By our Ashanti custom the matrilineal family of Daddy Lumba has a 100% rights to organize the funeral of the deceased. What about if Daddy Lumba made a WILL for the sharing of ALL his properties before he died. That scenario of what that Lawyer is saying is where there was no WILL made. But i strongly believe that Daddy Lumba made a WILL before he died. The FUNERAL will take place with or without Madam Akosua Serwaa. This is pure GREEDINESS .Some Widows even get nothing after the death of their husband's because the same didn't leave any properties. You're likely to get something but you want MORE hence this disgraceful court action. So Priscilla OFORI Atta ( Odo Bronii) should go empty handed for all these years with Daddy Lumba whilst you were comfortable living in Germany. Laws are made for human beings and not human beings for laws. It will be against NATURAL JUSTICE if Odo BRONII is not recognised as a wife to the late musician traditionally and legally. Since Lumba's first marriage was entered into in Germany, he should have dissolved that marriage before marrying another spouse. This is the issue that the courts in Ghana will have to debate before deciding whether Lumba's subsequent marriage to Broni was legal even though he had not dissolved the German marriage with Serwaa. Had Lumba married Serwaa in Ghana and then later married Broni, there would be no issue since both marriages took place in Ghana and Ghana recognizes polygamy.

This lawyer is a joke, is he telling me kennedy agyapongs others wives are all side chicks according to the law he read. Where was this akosua serwah when lumba was living, having kids, celebrating odo broni live during his birthday, concerts etc. Where was she when lumba was seriously ill and needed much care 24/7. Did she raise any objection in court about odo broni co-habiting with lumba and caring for him? Though divorce has to be ended by the courts. Any separation of couples for 5+ yrs means the marriage was dead. There are other prominent persons who have an official church or court registered marriage but still go ahead to register other women as their spouses through the local registry offices. Rawlings l believe made ut clear that other women who have children or lived with the man should be recognised as such during pndc era. Due to families treating other spouses horribly. I stand to be corrected.

Because Germany as Lumba Native Country where he Married Akosua Serwaa did not know Lumba property anywhere.So the woman Lumba travelled to Ghana and settled with her if he has anything, that thing belongs to that woman.
