Frankly, this is a slip up by the current government. I hope they'll pay up and keep paying up to sustain the event. The event has a positive impact on education in Ghana.

Because most of the so called "private" people have stolen the money that belonged to kids from government schools. They were part of canceling free high school so there will more treasure available to plunder.

The Schools do not make any revenue so how can the Schools organize and transport students and teachers and other officials for such programs. If the organizers don’t have the funds for the program, they should not start even to advertise it.

I have been part of big institutions in developed countries doing fundraising. One time I was joking with my friends that we should go and speak with Chief Executive and chiefs of our district to do fundraising to build schools and renovate the deteriorating school buildings. For instance, we visit all the towns and villages to find out the ones they don't have schools and ones the schools are deplorable. We could make it a 10 yr D-plan to make every town and village has a primary and JSS. Answer was hmmmmmmm.

2. JHS - Carrier choice (Carpentary and related subjects), Masonry and related subjects ,welding and related subjects, Building and related subjects, Medicine and related subjects, law andrelatedsubjects, banking and relatedsubjects, Piloting andrelatedsubjects, forces and relatedsubjects driving and relatedsubjects ,mining and related subjects, Animal production and related subjects, crop production , petroleum , automechanics, electricals, etc + Maths ) .English and one other foreign language. NOl anguage should be examinable ,but for proper communication. Of course everyone was born with a language. The ability to know another person's language should not be used as a yardstick for one's intelligence.
So right from the JHS through to university everyone is in his/her carrier journey and would have been an expertise.

If funding issues have started cropping up, I suggest other sources of funding be explored and exploited by both the organisers and the Ghana Education Service (GES). Otherwise the programme should be held once every two years for sustainability reasons.
