Chairman Wontumi needs to be very careful because this can be a Felony. In Uncle Sam’s country, if he is found guilty of the crime, apart from the fine, his properties will be confiscated and will certainly spend a good time in prison. By the time he comes out from Prison, his wife would have divorced him and his numerous Girlfriends would have deserted him. Let him be found guilty and sentenced to about 15 years imprisonment. When he comes back, his life will be miserable. His own friends would have taken turns in having sex with his wife and Girlfriends. He will be damn broke and shall have no friends as he used to again.
Wontumi, pray feverishly and continuously that you are not imprisoned for a long time in Prison. You will be punished by other inmates and treated as a slave in the Prison. You are going to have a horrible life to live. Just pray that you are not found guilty and imprisoned. I don’t wish you the best because of how you have ruined the environment with your Galamsay activities.

Yes, and they have clean drinking water to drink and shower. Do our MPs have such conditions.
Let me clarify to you that Frank Agyena—Karikari has been to USA Prisons on academic studies. Yes, we go to such places to let students know the conditions over there, and how the freedom of inmates are limited and curtailed. If I had ever imprisoned for any crime, I wouldn’t have been able to work at the Research Institute for the CDC for years. I couldn’t have been able to be a High School and College Professor in Social Studies and Comparative Religion for many decades at the USA.

Since you are using the expression, let me tell you how things work in the West. Generally speaking, if one is accused of a crime, the very avenue of the crime has to be closed off so that more damage isnt done before one is prosecuted and found guilty. For example, if a man is reported for physically abusing his wife, the first order of business is to have him surrender any weapon he owns, acquired legally or illegally.

Let's apply this to Wontumi's situation: do you know what illegal mining (galamsey) has done to our food supply and health? Do you want the man to continue to do that until he's found guilty, just because he has a license?

How do some of us think? It's these same people who will defend, and even insult anybody, who says Asantehene is part of the galamsey menace. How can a reasonable person not understand this? When Asantehene instituted curfews after the deaths of his mother and sisters, did even a mosquito disobey him? We are talking about somebody who says he is more powerful than our constitution, yet, when it comes to galamsey, he says he is powerless to act. Haven't chiefs of the Volta Region outlawed the menace in their territories? Is Asantehene lying or not? Of course he is lying, while children are being born deformed, and the deleteriousness of galamsey is destroying our food and water supplies, as well as our health.

Remember, Asantehene has mansions in South Africa, Maryland, UK, and can thus leave the country should this galamsey menace start killing people close to him.

How foolish can we be as a people, when we sit idly while our traditional and political leaders destroy our very lives while enriching themselves in the process?

This is Political gimick. If mining without license is th only charge against Chairman Wuntumi, then Ghanaians must forgert about it. No court judge in Ghana would find him guilty of the ofense because, he was issued countless legitimate mining licenses by the Akkufo Addo administration. This is just one of the political gimicks going on between the duopoly of NDC and the NPP parties. Both believe Ghanaians don't think and can use any means to trick us and get away with it.
