I sometimes don’t blame these politicians because the internal auditors involve themselves in operational duties through the archaic pre audit process because of the tips they get from that function. Internal Audit auditors should allow the finance officers to do their jobs while they maintain their independence to ensure that the systems in place are strictly applied.

In auditing, if evidence of an expenditure isn't available, such expense can not be on record and thus declared embezzled. Putting it on record and not having evidence of it us a malpractice.

He knows he hasn’t taken the money, so why should he cry as though he has stolen it? The way we label every procedural breach as corruption or misapplication is hurting this country. Our bureaucracy has become a trap—miss one step, and suddenly you’re branded a thief, even when everyone knows the money was redirected to something equally, or even more, important. The jargon and rigid systems we’ve built are suffocating progress instead of supporting it.
