I completely and wholeheartedly agree with every word you say. My problem with Bokpin whilst I do think he talks sense most times what he doesn't say is the root cause of why we are where we are and leaves the impression this is the fault of colonialism. Infact our problem is simple, those in charge at all levels of society and have access to public money are all stealing and have done so since independence. Look at countries like India, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, everyone of them in a worse position to Ghana when they gained independence and look how they are thriving today, why is this? They brought in LAWS to deal with corruption some of which saw their politicians put before a firing squad. This is what we need in Ghana to act as a deterrence but as usual we have no backbone as a people, we are a feeble, weak and lazy minded people looking for quick fixes for little or no effort.

Hear we go again blaming colonisation point the finger back at yourself. You borrow knowing the interest is high and more to the point you have nothing to show as how the money were spent. You import food etc that you should be able to provide for yourself. You not breaking the circle you replace the West with China Russian Arab countries as if that is different. The only people you not looking to is yourself and other African countries. Other countries have also been colonised. They chose to make the break not just talk.

This explanation for our economic problems is not a fact. We can blame others for our problems every day. Our attitude, insight and behaviors are the main underlying causes. If you blame it on high exchage rate , then answer me here: how does the government expect businesses to operate successfully when our interest rate in Ghana is around 21%?
Who is forcing us to fix the rate at 21%: Is the government delivering on its commitment to establishing the 24 hour economy? Did the 1DF work? Industrialization based on the abundant and varied resources is the key to our prosperity.
