  To me, this guy is being roosted for his demeanor, being overly egoistic and too knowing. If he had sat down to think it through, he wouldn't have made his initial pronouncement on the reduction like he did in a form of war. He acted rashly and I believe some sense have been talked into his head to upgrade his brain in governance.
  
  This is my take and I think this new development of added value adjustments instead of outright price reduction is a win-win situation for both the government and consumers (Ghanaians). Why? Because, when the price is reduced drastically, government loses it's equivalent in tax revenues, so in effect, citizens enjoy but the government and dstv lose, but when prices are adjusted in such a way that tax revenues on subscriptions wouldn't fall but when value is added so consumers enjoy more for relatively less payments, taxes are maintained or improved, consumers enjoy more services and everybody (government, dstv, consumers) is happy.
  
  So let's give this guy a breathing space a little. He needed proper consultations before coming out to exhibit his usual buga buga afuom behaviour. Let's just wait to see how sustainable the upgrades will be before his head is being called for.

Very disappointing and disheartening.Am almost certain they will install free DSTV in your office to appreciate your support.   For me DSTV won the fight against the minister. Before the issue of unrealistic subscription fee charges came out, DSTV was already sending texts messages to their subscribers who are on one particular package to pay to be upgraded to the next channel eg from compact to compact+. So what's new about this deal? Ghanaians wanted a reduction not to pay same amount to be upgraded. People have reasons for subscribing to a particular package.
