Organizers and sponsors wanted the trophy to go to football markets like Brazil and Spain so when the Africans took the trophy away,they still have to find a way — it’s a marketing ploy than it is fair play!

If this is the case, it actually makes sense to not give any individual awards to the winning team as they have already won the ultimate prize.
Everything in life is not about winner takes all or most. Allow the other students also get something worth taking home.
