Yaw, it is not easy like that. I have lived and worked at very serious Galamsay areas in Ghana. Members of the Police, Traditional leaders, Church leaders and Members and Educationists are involved. How do you stop such a business when they can be even be undertaken very deep in the night and these Galamsayers have Informers everywhere in the community if Monitors set off to their Galamsay areas to arrest them.
I will also want to suggest that any Galamsay equipments that are seized should all be burned in public, including even vehicles. Galamsayers arrested for the Second time or more should be Sentenced into Prison custody for about Twelve Years without any possibility of a parole. Mahama, the issue is dire and you have to be very tough and very hard.

The deployment of Soldiers and Police to the Galamsay areas is not the panacea to the problems that Galamsay will bring to Ghanaians. We have to understand that the Police and the Military people who shall be deployed to such areas are also Humans. The situation will become daring if such deployed Military and Police become compromised. I very much remember that during the time of Efo Jeremiah John Rawlings, he deployed some Soldiers, Police and some Revolutionary Vanguards to check corruption. What did we see? In the final analysis, these people, including even Jeremiah John Rawlings became compromised and more corrupt than the people they were asked to watch and investigate. I hope we all remember Akatapore, Captain Tsikata and many others. Do we remember 31st December Women’s Movement that was headed by her Excellency Konadu Agyemang Rawlings who must be obeyed? What became of them? Did Konadu not become more powerful and corrupt than the people they were supposed to monitor?
I would suggest that the Police and the Military personnel sent over to monitor Galamsayers should themselves be very much monitored. No such monitoring officers should be at a particular location for more than three months and transferred to another location. They should not be posted back to any location where they have been until after three years. Punish any such Monitors that become compromised.
Fighting Galamsay in Ghana is an arduous task. Any Monitor who becomes compromised should not be punished with fines but reasonably long Prison Sentences to deter any Monitors from becoming compromised. Mahama, this task is not a joke. You are going to find it difficult.

Mahama,please take the dark glasses off your phase and arrange to bring special police from Cuba,call them Galamsey deployed specialists, give them all the ammunition they need and send them to the regions where galamsey still operates. Then make a general announcement on TV that anyone who disobey these forces have themselves to blame. Let this announcement stay on the news for ONE MONTH .Ghana would change. How l wish l was the President or close to advising Mahama. Any Ghanaian employed to stop galamsey would get hooked in galamsey. ONLY A FOREIGN WELL STRUCTURED MILITANT GROUP WOULD SAVE GALAMSEY.
