Some of us are a living example and I can tell you on authority that I am a living example but for could I have been rubbing shoulders with the so call creme de la creme in almighty US?
I came from ground zero and somebody believed in me that we can also climb the ladder and contribute through knowledge to change the world positively!!

In the eighties and probably earlier and even beyond the eighties the same things were happening in our secondary schools. Humankind is always evolving and the character traits of yesterday will continue to evolve.

With the harsh economic battles we are going thru, if we shd give teachers unlimited freedom to cane students/pupils like it used in the past there will be serious problems. Parents /guardians shd take up that responsibility in building their children that moral character. Leaving everything to teachers will create problems.My experience in teaching, taught me that frequent beatings of students/pupils create psychological problems. I am not against punishment though, other forms of punishment can be applied.

The youth today have learned these behaviours from their parents. Do you remember, "let the blood flow" in 1979 and 1980s when that bastard was killing Akans, especially Ashantis. When he sent non Akan soldiers to brutalized civilians in Kumasi churchs and markets. May be the writer is too young to know. Do you remember those 'CDRs" made of army recruits with no quallification heading Ghanaian institutions including our universities where Vice Chancellors reported to those brain dead zombie soldiers.

Was there free SHS at that time? How about other conflicts and misunderstandings? I don’t like people who blame others but themselves for any problem. Society is evolving. Life is becoming more sophisticated as the years go by. The primitive way of discipline where parents flogged their children must be gone and gone forever. Come to think of it have all of you forgotten that our so called elders who are calling for corporal punishment were the same people marrying children as young as 8 years? What is the equivalent of this madness? Can you compare this with what you assume to be indiscipline in this era? Please let’s stop this holier than thou nonsense and find a better way of raising our children. We should not blame anybody. But do you know that our children who some of you think are indisciplined are far better than children from other countries in Africa? I pray that the Good Lord touches the heart of pollsters like the Global Info Analysis Group to conduct a survey on indiscipline among the youth from other countries in West Africa or Africa or even the world. The results will show how Ghanaian children are not bad
