  if we are to stretch your argument, then institutions like the courts where judges are permitted due to unique duties to work beyond 60 should be questioned. Not to support this, if not legislated but this is a function i guess allowed in law. If the contract and the constitution permit he stays beyond 60 in line with univ statute then we need the HC judgment asap, injustice wd have been meted out to the man if judgement goes in his favour.

At 60 he still has more to offer other than being the VC and I support that. This is a wise decision by the University Council.

  The Constitution exempts superior court judges from retiring at 60. You can’t compare that to Vice-Chancellors. What at all does he want after being a VC for more than 5 years?
