She was even pampered exceedingly, but she rather ended up showing the world why she has to go, with all her STUPID, BIZARRE & INFANTILE gimmicks. I'm sure the imminent outcome of her case suddenly turned her into a mentally-imbalanced patient. Araba was too crooked to have been maintained. Truly the Law is an Ass. That is why l prefer to be an Engineer which is an exact science. 1+1=2 period no ambiguity.
Martin Amidu says the removal of the Chief Justice is coterminous with that of the Justice of the Supreme Court.
Ansah Asare former Director of the Law School who supported the argument that the removal of the Supreme Court was constitutional now says it is not coterminous with her removal as Justice of Supreme Court because the processes of removal are different.
The law breeds corruption because it's not exact science, a Judge can free you or jail you if he likes. This discretionary power leads to bribery. In any case if the case is in court is Martin Amidu not in contempt of court?

Gertrude Torkonor is very aware that she has no chance of becoming a Justice of the Supreme Court again. Misconduct is misconduct, there is no misconduct for CJ and misconduct for Justices. Once found guilty, that is for you. That is why , she was advised to resign when her case started. Our constitution always gives the Executive all the powers except parliament. Even when The Speaker misconduct, the Executive can not remove him except the members of the parliament. But for the Judicial, its the Executive that nominate you, when you misconduct, The same Executive that refer you to council of State which The Executive appoints more than half, the same Executive that form the committee with 3 of Executive nomination to 2 of the Judicial (Executive dominate here again). The same Executive can suspend the investigation at any time. So the notion that The Judicial is independent is just for the kids. He who nominates , removes!

No government will dismiss a CJ they have confidence in. At least two lessons must be learnt from the dismissal of Torkornoo.
One. A CJ must be fair to all sides. A CJ who makes herself an appendage to the ruling government to suppress the opposition will surely be sacked when the opposition assumes power – no two ways about this.
Two. A ruling government must appoint a CJ based on seniority among the senior justices. A president who like Akufo, bypasses all the senior justices to appoint a rather junior justice like Torkornoo as CJ hoping to perpetrate his influence through the CJ even when he runs out of power, will only end up in a fiasco if the opposition comes to power after him.

How does that affect anything? Was CJ Sophia Akuffo the most senior at the time of her appointment? This is more than male chauvinism. Was there a female on the panel that found her guilty of misbehaviour? Too many Chauvinist in GH and its sickening to know that this is still rife in 2025. I weep for Ghana. Shame, Shame Shame!

The law that states how judges and Chief Justices can be sacked and lose their benefits already exists. It is not the business of any President to change that law simply because he happens to be a nice man.

Greed makes it impossible for NPP people to think rationally. Instead bowing out in shame, look at what Lawyer Torkonoo is doing!
