The NPP could not stop galamsey and so Ghanaians voted them out of power. The NDC took over with the promise of ending galamsey but the leaders have not been forceful in stamping out the menace. Ghanaians wanted the government to declare Galamsey a national emergency but government is dragging its feet. If Galamsey is not stopped, it will end up destroying our country. It must be stopped by any means necessary. The government needs to declared galamsey as an internal conflict and order the military to fight it . Our military is idle doing nothing but just waiting for Ecomog assignments to earn foreign currency. They must be deployed to these sites to stop these menace . This will mean destroying the people engaged in these activities and their equipment. Our leaders must have the balls to confront this crisis by passing and enforcing laws against galamsey. Very soon the Volta lake will be affected by galamsey with the destruction of our hydroelectric turbines and equipment that generate electricity for us .
