Why did the Ghanaian leaders sign on to ECOWAS free movement of goods and people and neglect to inform, educate, and prepare the citizenry before its implementation? Instead of a collective focus, why are some Ghanaian leaders so selfish and self-seekers? Where are the cultural exchange programmes between these two nations to foster better understanding? Where are the media exchange programmes to help enlighten the masses on the dynamics of populations, markets, capacities, metrics, or metrologies?

Is Ghana not the headquarters of AfCFTA? What is the country doing to invest heavily in infrastructure, such as a dual-carriage rail network, roads, or highways, to provide market access and lower the cost of production to the citizenry? Before the enthronement of Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru, wasn't there the Igbo Yaw Festival in Accra? So yesterday, it was welcome in Ewe or Akwaaba; What's next? We have signed on to the AU and ECOWAS protocols, and instead of enlightening the populace, the Ga Traditional Council is preoccupied with protectionism, haba!

Why can't Prof. H.K. Prempeh, Prof. Douglas Boateng, Exec. V.P. Yaw Nsarko and Dr. Nii Moi Thompson come together to define the short, medium, and long-term vision for the country, as well as set guardrails or regulations through the Constitution. Ghana is the headquarters of AfCFTA, and you will not read anywhere that Dr. Yaw Adutwum is preparing to increase the Ghanaian gross tertiary enrollment rate to mid-seventies from sixteen percent, or the permanent tripartite national development planning commission is organizing to point the path to peace and prosperity that emanates from building infrastructure, logistics, supply chain, technology, and machinery for the Ghanaian manufacturers, or plans to cater to the 1.5 billion consumers on the continent.

In summary, let's focus on substance, rather than style, because in the end, we are all part of a community with a shared future. Better information sharing with the masses, education, and cultural exchange between the two nations are preferable to isolation or protectionism in this era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

There is no other tribe in Ghana, that has a single ruler over such a large territory and populace. You can choose to call Otumfuo a King that is your choice but Constitutionally there is nothing like that. He is a custodian of the land and tradition of his people. But there are restrictions. There are certain powers that the central government weilds that the "King" of Ashanti cannot overturn in his so called Kingdom.

1: Kings do not travel to anywhere in the world with passports. The King of Eswatini came to Ghana without one. Kwaku Dua, cannot even go to Togo or Ivory Coast without a passport issued and signed by Ablakwa.

2: Kings have their images embossed on the currencies of the Kingdoms that they rule.

3: Kings cannot be prosecuted in their own country unless they are overthrown by unconstitutional means.

4: Customs, Immigration, Inland Revenue ,Police etc in countries ruled by Kings use the insgnia HRM on their letterheads.

It insinuates the Igbo community is not under the jurisdiction of the Ga Mantse and that postponement of the festival is due to logistical constraints but not any as a result of intervention from any traditional entity, which means the letter from the council should be disregarded by all and sundry.

September is the ninth month of the year, what prevented you to delay I forming those parties since January or say by as late as April this year? This is a challenge to our chiefs; it implies you are not going to celebrate the festival not because of any letter from them, but because you were not well prepared. Which means if you were fully prepared, their ban would have been inconsequential to you,

Was he and his group instructed to remove their hats and bow to show respect to Otumfuo which they did after that they were directed out of the funeral grounds? These are questions he must answer so we can dig deep at Manhyia for more checks. But just telling us it was fake news and misinformation, I don't buy it.

Obviously this Igbo scammer could attend the funeral but had no right to be received by Manhyia and Otumfuo. They were recognized as Ibo community in Kumasi when they donated but nothing more. One thing is he was introduced to Otumfuo as leader of the Igbo community in Kumasi or so in 2013 and not an Igbo King in Ghana. His spokesman has come out to make it clear that what the guy is doing is branding himself to be seen by outsiders as an important personality so he can defraud them.

After all, in all communities leaders of other tribes are referred to as Dagombafoohene, Fantifoohene, etc. I used to live in Europe, and we installed all sorts of Ghanaian chiefs. We celebrated all kinds of festivals in full cultural regalia, and the Europeans were so impressed with our beautiful culture. Why should we be maltreating our own Nigerian brothers here in Africa? There is already this weird discussion about who can be called King here in GH. To say the truth, all our paramount chiefs are Kings in their own right. It is the colonial masters who created this Chief title, just to distinguish our leaders from their European kings, thereby belittling our rulers.
I will urge our Nigerian brothers
to desist from addressing their leader as King, and that will make them more acceptable to us.
