We are not surprised. He has been forced out. His judgement was a disgrace to our judiciary. Unless this was an exception, any good lawyer who had a case before him should consider an appeal.

However, after attaining the age of 60, a judge can decide on his or her own free will to retire.
That's what the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana says.

60 years is retirement for public servants so if he was born 1965 he is in the net.
