Hon. Ablakwa,
It is important to clarify that while some individuals have left the refugee camp you visited in Ivory Coast, there is no verifiable evidence that they have returned to their homes in Ghana. A proportion have relocated to other parts of Ivory Coast, while many who crossed into Ghana are currently residing in Wenchi, Techiman, Kyebi, and other communities. A smaller group has sought asylum in the Sawla camp.
Given these realities, it would be misleading to suggest that normalcy has been restored. From STK to Bole, the situation remains unstable. Many homes have been burned or ransacked, farms have been occupied by Fulani herders and their cattle, and with the farming season almost over, it is unrealistic to expect displaced Birifor families to return to Bale, Doli, Kakiasi, Horiyiri, or Gbentey. Ghana, once viewed as a safe haven for refugees and asylum seekers within West Africa, has been undermined by avoidable violence.
There are also reports, yet to be authenticated, that settlers in Gynange, along the Damongo–Sawla highway, are being asked by the Overlord of Gonjaland to relocate in order to preserve the ethnic composition of the community. Should this be accurate, the Ministry of the Interior ought to treat such developments as critical intelligence for immediate verification.
In light of these circumstances, the decline in the number of Ghanaian asylum seekers in Ivory Coast should not be interpreted as evidence of safe return. The continued existence of the Sawla refugee camp, now hosting exclusively Ghanaian nationals, is a stark indication of the prevailing insecurity. While the intention to close the camp may be understandable, it is essential to recognize that closure cannot be enforced if residents remain too fearful to return. To do so would risk exposing them to grave harm.

Just because they crossed a thin border zone into the Ivory Coast doesn't make it your mandate to hold a press conference. Leave it to the Army, the Border Guards and the Interior Ministry.

Is this a Foreign Affairs matter? This is Muntaka's job, as the Minister in charge of national security. Attention-seeking Ablakwa, as usual.
