Seriously, I don't only empathize with these parents, but I'm also facing a similar situation. The current situation where books are not transferable, is all planned to benefit the publishers who are actually connected to officials at the Ghana Education Service. These GES officials are given monetary kick backs. Very greedy and criminal of them. I thought the ndc would come and reverse all this nonsense but, no. Their attention and focus is in who becomes the next flagbearer of their party. And they know that the fools will go and queue up to vote for them. Their children are not even in the public schools, rather, they are enrolled in big international schools running the Cambridge programs, so they care less. They don't feel the pain and burden of the ordinary people. Back in the day, we in primary school only did math, English, verbal and quantitative, each of these subjects marked over hundred, leading to a total of 400. Even then, textbooks were transferable to younger siblings. God is watching all those greedy people behind this rip-off.

Nonsense and I repeat NONSENSE again. Education is a social product which shd not be exploited by biz men/women. Affordable education shd be our priority. If we want information & technology why can't we use tablets which can handle all the syllabus on them? Are we saying countries like Chile & Peru are richer than Ghana? I blame the govt, both NDC & NPP for allowing for this exploitation. The masses are suffering from their inaction. Why can't textbooks be passed on if it's in a good state?

The Ghana Education Service needs to do something about the situation in both the private and public schools. I have just paid 1000 ( one thousand Ghana cedis )just for learning materials . How much at all is the books on the market for a parent to be asked to pay 1000 Ghana cedis. One of the most annoying aspects of the situation is the books are all kept in the school and the kids only have access to it when they have a lesson. What do the proprietors and heads want the kids to learn at home after paying soo much. Ghana Education Service need to sit up.

Ghanaians must be serious, our government must be serious that when issues are about education, free education must as well include text books and exercise books. The government must not pretend that education is free, meanwhile parents are told to buy exercise books for their children.
These are the people who say today that Kwame Nkrumah was a dictator and he did not manage the economy of this country well.
From Primary Class 4 to Middle School form 2 my mother or myself did not buy exercise books all was free with ink, blotting paper, pencil, pen, eraser and you name it.
Why we are not a serious country?

Kwaku Tee patience bro patience, this is fraud on industrial scale but it’s exactly the package majority of Ghanaian voters ordered, when a party is just an electoral machine but fails at governance but still wins elections because a sizable number of voters have their votes on autopilot this is what happens.Methinks that elections in Ghana is really a referendum on NPP and the earlier the party realizes that the better for all Ghanaians.
