On the one hand Manasseh is saying that this menace still needs high level leadership as things are not improving, to support his position just yesterday Ghana water in the central region cannot clean the water because of pollution directly caused by galamsay and the confirmed that the pollution is getting worse. I mean are we such a stupid nation that we can’t see the danger we are in. Also our pockets are being fleeced by this menace in that just yesterday Ghana water company has asked our bill to be increased by 280% and why is this, because of galamsay. In that light, Manasseh’s critique of the administration is well within his lane. The signs are there for all to see and only time will tell. Maybe it's early days yet so let's give him the benefit of the doubt till 2027-8.

People involve in galamsey include chiefs and the political class of both the NPP and NDC and it will take a ruthless leader to stop this. All our democratic leaders are just dancing around the issue of galamsey. Parliament could have implemented a law against galamsey but the members themselves are compromised in the menace . If a military leader has ordered a stop to galamsey, I bet you galamsey would end . Therefore our inability to stop galamsey is due to weak leadership.

The galamsey menace and politicians inability to deal with it tells one the type of leaders we have. As long as these people are making money out of it, they would continue to play games with it. Galamsey is happening in almost every region in the country. Mahama, just like his predecessor, Akkufo-Addo will not do anything about it. One would expect our traditional rulers, the custodians of our land would rise up to the occasion, take the interests of their people into consideration and prevent galamsey operation on their lands. With all the power and authority to install and remove chiefs, you would think the Asantehene would not allow any land under his authority to be plundered. Unfortunately, look at the rivers in his chiefdom, and one would ask questions. The sad one is the Birim river, right behind Kibi township, the seat of the Okyenhene, and he is so toothless to do anything about it. Are these traditional rulers benefiting from this destruction? So with our traditional rulers and our corrupt politicians in cohut to destroy the country, it is really hopeless the galamsey issue will ever be resolved. Mahama is playing games with galamsey, benefit from it and get out after his term ends.

No doubt majority of CLOGSAG MEMBERS live on Bank loans and are the poorest among government workers in GHANA. For how could CLOGSAG EXECUTIVES accept pay premium based on over 10 years ago rate ? Hence CLOGSAG IS BECOMING A USELESS ASSOCIATION.
