  Ghana will never make it until it drifts from import dependence on foreign manufactured products to locally made goods.It is a shame Ghana has made no progress in industrialization since independence .Very basic infrastructures eg Rail and roads are lacking and corruption is endemic in all the structures of the economy in the country.

You reduce the cost of Dollars to importers to encourage them to import far more goods whilst at the same time depriving exporters of nearly half their income, leading to a massive drop in Dollar revenue which has knock on effects that the country is over reliant on imports for basic necessities and workers for export companies are laid off and made redundant!
