It is the way Nana Addo and the NPP used the Judiciary for their own parochial interests that is why he says the Judiciary is unfit for purpose. The principles of Law was thrown overboard. Nana Addo could not charge Vormawor for any attempted coup because he would have had to force the hands of Aunty Gertrude and the Judiciary to do the unthinkable to a person who was a high profile person publicly and innocent for that matter.

The constitution needs to be amended. The chief Justice and the Supreme Court must be bi-partisan and the appointment of the chief justice by the President should be abolished. The appointment of the chief justice and the selection of the justices of the Supreme Court should be done by a legal committee made up of legal luminaries from various sectors including academia.
A chief justice appointed by a president will be obligated to serve that president and this is the problem with our system. If the chief justice and the justices must be independent in their rulings , they must be appointed by an established committee .
