The closest they had of any such person was Kofi Abrefa Busia who was so inept that he was severally hooted at in public and eventually booted out of Office by the military. It is said that, one of the last straws was when he withdrew his personal savings from local banks, converted all of it and proceeded to officially devalue the Cedi to gain undue advantage. On hindsight, all NPP leaders who became Presidents, managed to do so on the basis of dubious electoral practices. Even if they don't agree to this assertion, their performances proved beyond any doubt that they were all hopelessly incompetent - or blasé at best. The worst and last of the lot was Akufo Addo who sounded the death knell of that organization as a political party.

So sad the NPP has ended this way. Dont they have elders and strategist who by now know who to sell and promote that choice at the primarie? If it is Bawumia they have chosen and they have done their work well then Bawumia will take it no matter the tribal comments. But any sensible person will political sense will tell you NPP's best choice is Bawumia. Any other choice and the whole north will be there for the NDC to grab. The north will not take it lightly.
  Learn from the NDC. They already know who the contestants should be and which of them they will sell to the party on the whole and Ghana.
