From this perception, one can understand why Bryan Acheampong recently revealed that he invested over GHC52 billion in the ethnic Akan Eastern Region of Ghana in the campaign of the last elections. We really need to be wise to eliminate bigots and liars from our politics. We can do so by rejecting them and by not voting for them irrespective of what party they represent. No tribe is better or worse than the others and those who prey on our ethnic tensions are criminals. These are the people who want power but have no idea how to solve the country’s problems. Increasing ethnic tensions will solve no problem but will rather compound tensions. If the NPP wants to be taken seriously, they should reject those within the party who have become so tribalistic that it is difficult to separate the NPP from Ashanti nationalism. The NPP doesn’t represent all Ghanaians.

Is such a man presidential material? Well I personally doubt it. But let's look at what he said and discuss whether it's tribalistic. He said the Bawku war is a deep seated dispute being fought between 2 clans or tribes who hate each other so much they have been fighting for decades. That is true. He said if you belong to one of the clans, the other side of the dispute will never vote for you as president including their supporters. True
The only question is whether such hatred can translate nationally since Asanties,Fanties,GAs , Ewes and the rest of the country would be unduly bothered. To call his statement tribalisitic makes you shallow. I probably would not vote for him but I do nothave evidence to disagree with anything he has said regarding this issue and it's possible impact on NPPs future. NPP failed primarily because of the unwillingness or inability of those voted into office to address or tackle the vital issues most important to Ghanaians. The NPP ruling class showed contempt for the concerns of ordinary Ghanaians. They simply never listened. During NPP's tenure we saw Corruption, Nepotism and Impunity (admittedly perennial problems amongst our political elites) taken to another level.

The way the NPP is conducting its affairs is just a photocopy of the terror they inflicted upon the newly born Ghana before and immediately after independence. They tried over 10 times to assassinate the first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and when he outwitted them each time, they collaborated with our oppressors (the ones that the message of the words in our national anthem tells us to resist) to insensitively and wickedly overthrow the first native govt of Africa. Bawumia doesn’t seem to have a good wife and a team that can counsel him. His team is after all the money he stole when they were in power and they are also interested in the supposed positions they will get should they wi power . Bawumia has a foreign wife and in-laws who have no constituency and no home region . His Islamic religion is the minority in Ghana and a lot of Christian’s again won’t vote for him . He comes from small north east region , he’s not a politician, he has no track record given the failed akuffo add administration. His roots to akuffo addi who provoked Ghanaians will make him lose more because a lot of people don’t want to hear of akuffo addi and his associates. The list of negatives against Bawumia are endless and he should resign and save NPP some peace .

It is also true that for a very very long time, certain tribes only vote for the NDC without change. If you find yourself in that class, you cannot play the diversity drum. Observers wants to cease the opportunity to woo some tribes to their bossom. NDC must be careful with their appointments which may be purely based on merit, but our society is still growing and the opposition will diligently use it against them. It could work, if there are evidences to prove. Remember the Akan electoral register is fertile and might not always be content with the selection of just some people. Be fair and it will balance things out.

Every credible political analyst attributes the NPP loss of the 2024 elections to the woeful ineptitude and abhorrent naked corruption of the previous administration which ultimately led to grinding poverty in Ghana.However tribal bigotry is seemingly getting in the way of the facts as we all know.

Bryan's reasoning for why the NPP lost clearly shows that still does not understand why his party lost the national election in 2024. When a clueless politician is desperate and has no leg to stand on, it comes as no surprise when that politician starts to wave a tribal flag of convenience.
