Grandmother of slain immigration officer, Stephen King Amoah, has spoken out following a tense hearing at the Adabraka District Court on Friday, August 22, 2025.

In an interview with the media after the hearing, she expressed pain at the death of her grandson and the slow pace of justice delivery.

“The adjournments are becoming too frequent. I don’t have enough to be spending on transportation to and from the court. The late immigration officer was the one taking care of me, and he has been killed,” she said.

She also urged the public to be cautious about the trust they place in others, describing her grandson’s death as a cruel betrayal.

“How can one kill a person in such a brutal manner? We should all be wary of friends. Look at what the suspects did to him. This should serve as a lesson to those who trust friends blindly,” she added.

Her words followed chaotic scenes after the hearing where relatives of Amoah nearly attacked the suspects, Bright Aweh and Thomas Zigah, also known as Nii Jaase.
