GTEC is doing a fantastic job of sanitizing the Ghanaian society that’s saturated with fake academic degrees and titles. It’s not true that in the USA anyone who teaches at a university earns the title professor. One has to go through a continuous assessment of one’s publications, grants, teaching, and service for period of not less than 5 years before a promotion to Associate Professor. A similar assessment is undertaken before one is promoted to a full professor position. The entire process takes not less than 15 years. These assessments have departmental, college, and external components. All these components must agree on the promotion at each level. Adjunct professors are part-time lecturers who don’t have any foothold in the tenure system and can never be promoted as full professors.

In many instances being a professor of surgery simply means the person teaches surgery.

I have a very funny feeling that this woman is not telling the truth. A full professorship should involve intense research and publication of at least three highly-respected and acceptable publications anywhere in the world. Has she done that to merit her so-called title?
