What does that imply? Deceptive and cacophonous! He thinks he is all that. His issue with the Chief Justice must be stemmed from a personality crash. Otherwise what has Tokornoo done to call for her head?

When Charlotte’s was thrown under the bus by her own deputies, after they made a compelling accusations for her removal and bolstered them with a prima facie evidence of procurement breaches, abuse of power, to mention just a few of them — that’s according to the case sheet that was also published by numerous Ghanaian newspapers —and not withstanding the fact that a thorough investigations were conducted by the government, the results of the probe that numerous legal experts deemed credible, yet John Cribo Mahama wasn’t ashamed to defend her at the speech he gave at the CHATHAM HOUSE in 2023.

My Take:
In so doing, John Mahama has already undermined any sound argument of discretion to remove the Chief Justice who has not committed any crime against the state: Be it financially, morally or politically.

Let me repeat! Kwaku Azaa’s argument doesn’t merit any case for removal, there’s not enough evidence to remove the head of the country’s Judiciary who is supposed to be independent, according to the Ghanaian constitution, just because of some personal sentiment of a cacophonous American based technocrat!

How can the investigating committee refuse to allow Justice Torkonoo to interrogate those who filed the complaint. Besides, decisions of the Supreme Court on this matter are so laughable that it has caused embarrassment to the country in the eyes of the international community. This has a negative impact on foreign direct investment into the country since it has made our judges timid and created the impression that any person who has a case against the Ghana government in any Ghanaian court will never get fair trial.

Torkonu is a goner, her days of judicial dictatorship is over. The judiciary have moved on so well and the judges are working without any intimidations and interference. The reset is on course.
